The Schultz family arrived at the cemetery. Laurel’s gravestone had been cleaned, and the photograph at its center still showed her smiling gently.
At a glance, it almost seemed as if she were standing there, kindly and benevolently watching over her family.
Xylia had not visited the cemetery in a long time, nor had she paid her respects to her grandmother for quite some time.
In previous years, because Connor was always busy with work and lacked patience, she would rush through the memorial, paying her respects quickly before leaving just as fast.
After marriage, she longed for a family that truly belonged to her. In the end, she was left alone.
Xylia placed her grandmother’s favorite sunflowers in front of the gravestone and silently spoke to her in her heart.
‘Grandmother, this may be the last time I visit you. I’m leaving now. I’ve found my true family. You once told me that if one day I could no longer stay with the Schultz family, I should leave bravely. Now, the time has come,’ she thought.
Xylia quietly gazed at the photograph on the gravestone.
Although Yves and Gia were displeased with Xylia, they did not make a scene on the anniversary of Laurel’s passing.
Ziggy watched Xylia in silence, his gaze growing increasingly deep. No one knew what he was thinking.
After leaving the cemetery, Xylia handed Yves a document. “It’s to sever ties with the Schultz family.”
Yves was initially shocked by her sudden move. After a moment, he looked at her with disdain. “What is this about?”
“Once this agreement is signed, I will have no further connection with the Schultz family. This is what you wanted, right?” Xylia’s voice was cold, and her gaze toward them had grown more distant.
Yves and Gia exchanged glances, each seeing delight in the other’s eyes. In fact, they had long wished to sever ties with Xylia.
The wrong child had been raised in their home for so many years. If Xylia hadn’t married Connor at that time, Yves would not have kept her in the family, as he valued the partnership with the Ford Group.
Now that Xylia and Connor were divorcing, she was no longer useful to them. Let the relationship be severed.
Gia grabbed the document from Yves and signed it decisively.
As they prepared to leave, Ziggy suddenly grabbed Xylia’s arm. “Where do you plan to go after the divorce?”
“It’s none of your business.” Xylia said.

Once all the formalities for severing ties were completed, Yves and Gia didn’t spare Xylia another glance and left immediately.
However, Ziggy glanced at Xylia’s indifferent expression, feeling a persistent discomfort in his chest. But he didn’t ask any further and left with Yves and Gia.
Xylia had not yet removed Connor from her blacklist, but today marked the last day of the divorce cooling- off period, and the divorce needed to be finalized.
She called Connor. The first two calls went unanswered, but the third call was finally picked up.
Connor’s impatient voice came through. “What?”
“Today marks the last day of the cooling–off period. Let’s go to the city hall and finalize the divorce,” Xylia said.
There was silence on the other end. Then Connor’s voice came through, gritted with anger. “Xylia, do you know what day it is today?”
“Of course, it’s the day of our divorce.”
“Damn it, my grandfather just passed away, and you’re bringing up divorce now?” Connor shouted.
“You only need to spare a few minutes to collect the certificate. Anything else has nothing to do with me,” Xylia’s voice was cold and emotionless.
It was only then that Connor realized how ruthless a woman could be when she decided to let go. “Just you wait!”
After hanging up the phone, Xylia immediately stood waiting at the entrance of the city hall.
It was an overcast day, with a few rays of sunlight forcing their way through the clouds to shine onto the earth.
Xylia looked up at the golden rays in the sky, feeling inexplicably calm. She, too, would be like those rays of light, determined to pass through the many obstacles ahead and embark on a new journey.
Connor arrived at city hall twenty minutes later, accompanied by Tessa.
Xylia hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly, the journey from Ford Mansion to city hall should have taken at least half an hour.
Connor approached her with a sullen face, not even bothering to look at her. “Aren’t we getting the divorce decree? Hurry up!” He was impatient, his tone almost sulking.
Tessa, who arrived with him, had slightly disheveled hair, a rosy complexion, and red lips. Xylia quickly realized what the two had just been doing.
She let out a cold snort inwardly. Orion had just passed away, and Connor and Tessa were already doing this.
But Xylia didn’t say anything. Under Tessa’s provocative gaze, she followed Connor into city hall.

The divorce process was simple and straightforward. The two quickly obtained their divorce decree.
Connor didn’t look at Xylia once throughout the process. In a huff, he walked down the steps of city hall.
Tessa nearly burst with joy. She looked at Xylia and, with a provocative tone, said, “Xylia, you won’t regret this, will you?”
