Burke hung up the phone and, turning around, saw Joshua standing behind him.

He first stiffened, then relaxed, and smiled as he looked at Joshua. “Mr. Garcia, you walk so quietly.”

Joshua looked at him expressionlessly and asked, “Which designer do you intend to poach?”

Burke shrugged his shoulders with a smile. “Apart from Miss Xylia Sadler, who else could possibly catch my eye?”

Joshua’s face grew somber. “Did I not warn you to stay away from her?”

“By all rights, I should heed your warning. However, Mr. Garcia, do not forget that I am also a businessman. Businessmen always weigh the pros and cons. Compared to the benefits that Ms. Sadler can bring me, your threat is truly insignificant.” With that, Burke walked up to Joshua.

When he met Joshua’s cold gaze, he fell silent.

Joshua stopped wasting words with him and turned to leave.

Connor said very calmly, “Xylia, you really are something. After forcing me to divorce you’re just living it up in Norhill. One chauffeur wasn’t enough for you–you even got involved with the Sadler family’s heir. Just how despicable can you be?”

She observed Connor’s position, considering how she could avoid him while swiping her card to enter the room and then locking him outside.
