Xylia let out a soft hum and looked at Peter. “Mr. Levine, is that right? You’re basing your judgment solely on Mrs. Carter’s account and concluding that I deliberately broke this vase. Isn’t that a bit too arbitrary?”

Peter sneered. “Mrs. Carter is a regular customer here–do you really think she’d trick me? Can’t afford to pay for this vase! If you don’t have money, why are you even in an antique shop?”

Xylia wouldn’t back down. “When I entered your store, no one asked me to provide proof of funds. So why now? Are you trying to judge whether I have money just by looking at me?”

Xylia was talking with Peter while scanning her surroundings.

Observing Xylia’s composed demeanor, Peter began to question her identity, wondering if she was also a rich lady.

Marie scoffed from the side, “A shameless fake–at a time like this, you still have to put on airs. Do you really think your fake brother will pay for you?”

As she spoke. Marie cast a disdainful glance at Leon.
