“Yeah,” Joshua replied, his tone cold and indifferent to the person mentioned by Eliza.
Seeing this, Eliza shook her head helplessly. “Surely you don’t need to avoid Noelle like this, do you?”
“I’ve already given her what she wanted. I can’t give her more,” Joshua said. After speaking, he turned to his mother. “You promised you wouldn’t get involved in any decisions about my partner.”
“When did I say I would?” Eliza quickly distanced herself, insisting she only nagged occasionally and didn’t have the time to meddle in his love life.
As a parent, Eliza knew best how to keep boundaries with her son. Her son was young, smart, and decisive- he didn’t need her to be involved in his decisions.
Joshua sat up straight, resting his head on his hand, and thought for a moment. “Well, I need you to get involved now.”
Eliza looked at him with confusion, she saw the usual scheming in his eyes. She narrowed her gaze. “Get involved in what?”
Joshua explained the situation, and Eliza stared at him, bewildered. “After all this time, I didn’t realize you were this kind of person.”
“Are you going or not?” Joshua asked.
“Of course,” Eliza patted her skirt and sat up straight. “How could I not stand up for my future daughter–in- law? Don’t worry, I won’t hold you back.”
Joshua nodded with satisfaction.
Zinn Group declared bankruptcy within just three days. Tyson and Ruby were in great distress, hoping Tessa would help them.
Ziggy stepped in front of Tessa, shielding her, and looked coldly at Tyson and Ruby. “Tessa has been widowed for eight years for your son. She’s already done enough for you. Don’t drag her into this.”
Ziggy took Tessa’s hand and left the Zinn family’s residence.
Back at the Schultz family home, Gia joyfully grabbed Tessa’s hand, saying that no matter what, she would find her a better husband this time.
Tessa only nodded, but in her heart, she knew that the most suitable person was still Connor. She had to drive Xylia away.
The day before the school anniversary, Xylia finally arranged to meet with Josie.

Josie looked Xylia over carefully. “Are those bruises from the kidnappers? Who did this to you? Did you report it to the police?”
Xylia smiled as she pulled Josie’s hand down. “I’m fine now, don’t worry.”
Xylia had already heard about the Zinn Group’s bankruptcy. Given Tessa’s relationship with the Zinn family, Connor wouldn’t make a move. She suspected it was Joshua.
She called him to confirm, and he confirmed that it was indeed the Garcia family’s doing. After all, she was still considered the Garcia family’s “daughter,” and they would seek justice for her.
Xylia felt a gentle warmth in her heart. It seemed that since meeting Joshua, everything in her life was moving in the right direction. She owed him a meal and needed to find a time to treat him.
Josie, seeing that Xylia was truly fine, felt relieved. “It seems that being the wife of a wealthy family is not easy. Danger is everywhere.”
“It was just an accident,” Xylia said.
The two of them continued chatting and strolling.
Eyshire Mall, located in the center of Jupiton, was the most luxurious shopping mall in all of Jupiton. It housed numerous luxury brand stores and upscale restaurants, making it a popular spot for the heirs of wealthy families.
Xylia and Josie came here to shop for branded clothing in preparation for opening a studio.
“The national design competition has been postponed for two months due to some issues, so you have plenty of time to focus on your studio now,” Josie said.
Upon hearing this, Xylia was surprised. “Why was it postponed?”
“I’m not sure, I just heard it from my dad. It seems like there’s some kind of policy change,” Josie replied.
Xylia felt overjoyed. She had been worried about running out of time, but now she had plenty of it. “I won’t be opening my studio in Jupiton. In just over a month, I’ll be going back home,” Xylia said.
“Going home? Isn’t your home in Jupiton?” Josie asked, puzzled.
Xylia shook her head. “My real family is in Norhill. In just over a month, after I divorce my current husband,
I’ll leave here forever.”
The word “forever” sounded so heavy, Josie frowned slightly. “I’ll visit you in Norhill in the future.”
“Okay, Xylia nodded.
As they were talking, the door to a nearby luxury store opened, and Connor’s deep voice was heard. “Are you going to Norhill?”
Xylia jumped at the sudden sound. Looking up, she saw Connor and Tessa standing at the door.

Tessa, dressed in a luxurious silk slip dress, had long legs and smiled as she linked arms with Connor. Connor held a shopping bag in one hand, and his other arm was linked with Tessa’s.
Following Xylia’s gaze, his eyes fell on Tessa’s arm linked with his. He coughed awkwardly. “You still haven’t answered my question. Why are you going to Norhill?”
“You misheard me. I never said I’m going to Norhill.” Xylia’s expression was indifferent.
After saying this, Xylia took Josie’s hand to leave, but Tessa suddenly called out, “Xylia, since we’ve run into each other, let’s have a meal together. Bring your friends too.”
