Joshua was speaking with the waiter. Today, he wore a perfectly tailored gray suit, its darker, more subdued color complementing his silver hair. The design was simple, yet the details were flawless.

Few men could pull off a suit in such a shade, but on him it looked effortlessly striking.

From Xylia’s angle, she could only see his profile. His features were sharp and defined, his silver hair falling. neatly across his forehead. His captivating eyes held a hint of intensity.

“Do you know him?” Josie followed Xylia’s gaze, just as Joshua turned his head and noticed them. He looked familiar to Josie–like someone she had seen before.

“I do.” Xylia took Josie by the hand and walked up to Joshua. “What a coincidence. Are you here for dinner too?”

Joshua’s eyes dropped to their linked arms, his gaze darkening. “I am here to attend to some matters.”

Then his eyes shifted past Xylia, catching sight of Connor and Tessa coming out from inside. The hostility in his expression deepened. “Ms. Schultz, Mr. Garcia would like to meet you tomorrow. Are you available?” he added.

Hearing him suddenly address her as “Ms. Schultz” felt strange to Xylia. Still, upon hearing “Mr. Garcia,” she hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Upon hearing Joshua mention “Mr. Garcia“, Connor quickly walked over. “Mr. Garcia?” Connor looked at Xylia. “Then I’ll accompany you tomorrow.”

Without waiting for Xylia to respond, Joshua let out a cold laugh and looked at Connor. “Mr. Garcia didn’t say he wanted to see you. If you want to meet him, make an appointment yourself.”

Then Joshua turned back to Xylia, his expression softening. “I still have matters to attend to. I’ll pick you up

tomorrow at ten.”

Xylia nodded, then Joshua entered the restaurant.

Connor, with a serious expression, pulled Xylia aside. “Do you know what to say when you meet Mr. Garcia tomorrow?”

Xylia looked at Connor. “What?”

He gave her a cold, sidelong glance. “Although you have joined the Garcia family, do not forget that we are truly the ones who will spend the rest of our lives together as a family.

“The Ford family is facing a crisis. The Garcia Group has a project that could help. Bring it up casually, not too deliberately”

Xylia scoffed. “Do you really think Mr. Garcia believes I’m the daughter who went missing years ago? With all his resources, he wouldn’t have investigated?”

“A paternity test doesn’t lie. No matter how much he investigates, you’ll still be a Garcia,” Connor said.

“Is that so?” Xylia lifted her eyes to study his face. It was a face she had known for eight years, yet now it felt blurred, unreal.

Connor knew very well whether the test was fake. Xylia wondered why he was so certain the Garcias wouldn’t uncover the truth.

“When we get home tonight, I will tell you about the matters concerning the Garcia family,” Connor said.

Xylia only nodded and left with Josie.

Joshua arrived at the window–side seat on the upper floor of the restaurant. Eliza was already seated, flipping through a magazine.

“What did you call me here for?” Joshua asked, glancing casually at the magazine. It wasn’t from the restaurant -it was a jewelry catalog.

“You’re finally here.” Upon seeing Joshua arrive, Eliza hurriedly put away the manual, picked up her bag, and looked very hurried.

“I’ve arranged for you and Noelle to meet. The two of you should talk things through. Whatever happens, don’t damage your relationship. I still have to see my mentor–I’m already running late,” Eliza said.

She rattled off her words in a rush and dashed out, afraid that if she lingered even a second longer, Joshua might fling the cutlery on the table at her.

As she expected, Joshua’s expression was already beyond grim. Without wasting another moment, he left the

restaurant.

Ten minutes later, a woman in an elegant dress hurried in, only for the waiter to inform her that the person she was meeting had already gone.

The next morning, 10:00 a.m. Connor personally accompanied Xylia to the door.

Joshua’s Maybach was already parked at the entrance. He gazed at the Ford Mansion, a strange light flickering in his eyes. He needed an outlet. When Joshua was in a foul mood, he always looked for something–or someone–to take it out on.

Just then, Connor and Xylia walked over. Upon seeing Joshua, Connor gave him a piercing look.

Joshua’s eyes softened as they landed on her. “Not at all. Let’s go.”
