After Nova’s older brother was taken away by the police, order was restored in the grand hall. The school staff began to maintain order and planned to evacuate parents and students.

Sonny finally had the chance to rush over and hug Tessa tightly. “Tessa, I was so worried just now.”

“I’m fine,” Tessa said.

Xylia looked at them, her gaze filled with mockery. She was the one who had almost been attacked, yet throughout the incident, Tessa had been protected by Connor, and still, Sonny was more worried about Tessa.

Xylia’s gaze shifted to Connor. “It just so happens we have this opportunity today. I’d like everyone to witness something.”

Xylia’s voice was loud, causing the people who had been leaving in an orderly manner to stop and look back. “Connor, I want a divorce–right now.”

Connor looked at Xylia with a dark expression. “What did you say?”

Tessa’s face first lit up with delight, then she pretended to advise. “Xylia, what are you doing? Even if there are problems between you two, you shouldn’t bring them up here.

“Although you were just recognized by the Garcia family, you’ve been married to Connor for many years. Do you look down on him now?”

Tessa’s words seemed to ease the tension, but she was subtly suggesting that after Xylia joined the Garcia family, she had become arrogant and looked down on Connor.

The surrounding crowd began whispering.

Someone said, “I heard the Garcia family recently found their daughter, but I’ve never heard of the Garcia family having a daughter.”

“Well, if it were me, why stay with the Ford family if I could return to the Garcia family?” Another person added.

Someone finally remarked, “You can’t say that. After all, they’ve been married for so many years. How could she abandon her husband just because she became successful? She is ungrateful.”

There were murmurs about how Connor had never cared about Xylia’s fake heiress status and had taken care of her for seven years. Now that she became rich, she abandoned her husband.

Holding Tessa’s hand and having heard her words, Sonny was very worried that Xylia and his father might not be able to get divorced today.

He quickly echoed the crowd. “Fine, divorce then. But I’m not going with you. I want to stay with Dad, not with a woman who abandons her husband and child.”

Leon glanced at the little one, a cool smile playing at his lips. “Quite the sharp–tongued one,” Leon said, then turned his gaze back to Tessa, whose hand was tightly held by Sonny, before looking at Connor.

“Anyone who doesn’t know might think you and the person next to you are his parents,” Leon added.

“Mr. Sadler, if you keep talking nonsense, I won’t be so easy to talk to.” Connor seemed to grow angry and yelled at Leon.

Tessa quickly explained, “Mr. Sadler, Sonny is just attached to me since he was little. Connor and I are long- time friends, so we may appear close. It doesn’t matter if you misunderstand, but what if this affects Xylia’s marriage?”

Tessa couldn’t understand why Leon kept speaking on behalf of Xylia.

“Tessa seems to be advising, but it’s actually full of scheming,” Someone said.

Another person responded, “Not only that. Under the guise of friendship, she gets close to her brother–in–law and still maintains her sister and brother–in–law’s reputation. Her methods are truly impressive.”

Someone else asked, “Really? She’s a scheming woman?”

The whispers resumed around them.

Tessa’s face flushed with anger, but she dared not speak again.

However, when Connor shot a glance, his commanding presence made everyone around them quiet.

He then looked at Xylia again. “Enough! No matter how unreasonable you’ve been lately, I haven’t argued with you. Did

you really have to make a scene at Sonny’s school?”

Xylia smiled and said, “I am serious.”

Connor snorted. He clearly didn’t believe Xylia could bring herself to divorce him. He thought she was making a big show of this because of the Garcia family.

He should tell Xylia the truth that her identity as a Garcia family daughter was something he had fabricated. Without him, she was nothing. “Is it because you’ve latched onto the Garcia family that you want a divorce? I won’t grant it,”

As soon as he finished speaking, a cheerful female voice came from the doorway. “There was a mistake earlier. Ms. Schultz has no connection to the Garcia family.”

Yana walked in. Her voice was perfectly pitched to be heard by everyone present.

Connor turned pale upon hearing Yana’s voice,
