Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding novel Chapter 128

Sebastian's casual statement.

Struck like a boulder dropped into a placid lake.

Even Raelynn couldn't stop herself from looking at him.

Though the shock had long since worn off.

Calm and collected as always, he addressed Preston directly. "Longstride Technologies, under Croix Holdings, is a titan in the smart medical industry. They will officially back her. If we partner, Longstride will cover all of NexusMind's future manufacturing. Does that kind of leverage satisfy you, Mr. Moreno?"

Seraphina looked up at Sebastian, unable to hide the absolute adoration swimming in her eyes.

It was the radiant glow of a woman who was unconditionally loved and spoiled.

Raelynn lowered her eyelashes, masking the bitter irony in her gaze.

Sebastian was publicly announcing to everyone in the room that he was Seraphina's ultimate protector!

How could she possibly miss the message?

Preston's jaw tightened slightly. "Longstride is definitely an industry leader. I implicitly trust your manufacturing output and quality control. But Mr. Croix is Mr. Croix. Here at NexusMind, we also evaluate Ms. Vance's personal capabilities. From what I gather, she lacks any real experience in this specific sector."

To put it bluntly.

Seraphina's ambition far exceeded her grasp, and she was trying to muscle her way into an arena she didn't understand.

Did she seriously think she was some once-in-a-generation prodigy like Raelynn?

"I can assemble the core team. You have nothing to worry about."

Sebastian countered smoothly, shutting down the argument.

Raelynn understood him perfectly.

He was going to hire the absolute best in the business to hand-hold Seraphina through the process.

He wouldn't allow her to fail.

Once the conversation reached that point...

Preston offered a polite, totally unreadable smile. "If it's a partnership, NexusMind will naturally take it under serious consideration. However, you truly are a lucky woman, Ms. Vance. To have a powerhouse like Mr. Croix propping you up at such a young age is quite a feat."

Preston's heart ached for Raelynn.

If witnessing this as a bystander felt sickening, he couldn't imagine the sheer agony she was enduring as his actual wife.

Seraphina wasn't stupid; she caught the underlying jab.

He was implying that Sebastian was spoon-feeding her success.

So what?

She was more than capable of handling the work herself.

Raelynn only lifted an eyebrow at the mention of the academy, completely refusing to engage with their ridiculous banter.

There was no point in interjecting. Sebastian was making his intentions crystal clear—he was elevating Seraphina and practically promising to carry the entire Vance family to glory.

Sick of their voices.

She turned on her heel and headed for the restroom.

Her mother's car accident all those years ago had always been suspicious. To this day, Raelynn suspected Silas Vance and Blanche were somehow involved, but she had never been able to find a shred of solid proof.

As for the antique shop Silas had signed over to Sebastian, the transfer hadn't followed legal protocols. The paperwork was incomplete, which meant there was a massive legal loophole waiting to be exploited.

Ultimately.

Silas and Blanche had completely ruined her and her mother's lives.

And yet, Sebastian was completely fixated on tossing endless wealth at the Vance family just to make his precious girlfriend happy...

Whenever Raelynn pictured her mother lying in that hospital bed, trapped in a vegetative state with totally devastated neurological functions, it felt like she couldn't breathe.

Her mother's condition had been the exact reason she developed the skeletal robot in the first place.

Tragically, because her mother's brain had slipped into a deep coma and lost all neural activity, she never even got to use it.

Her ultimate goal in life was to research and develop Anti-Brain Death Therapy.
