[How did I raise such an ungrateful, heartless daughter?]
Raelynn knew exactly who it was: Silas Vance.
In the past, she could never understand how Silas could be so cruel to her.
He treated a stepdaughter thousands of times better than his own flesh and blood.
But now she knew the truth—she wasn't his biological daughter.
And yet, even knowing she wasn't his, he still had the audacity to exploit her just to pave the way for his precious stepdaughter.
Raelynn typed a quick reply: [Then tell her to come grovel.]
She hit send and immediately blocked the number.
She didn't return to the marital home. Instead, she spent the rest of her time buried in the Component Extraction Lab at work.
As for the scandal regarding Seraphina Vance's malicious plagiarism and the rumors of her being the other woman, the news had clearly been suppressed, stopping it from spreading any further.
It didn't take a genius to figure out who pulled those strings.
Monday arrived.
Raelynn headed over to Longstride Technologies.
The change of ownership at Longstride was still a tightly kept secret within the industry.
The only people who knew were likely the top executives she was scheduled to meet.
As soon as Raelynn arrived downstairs, Mr. Tanner from Longstride called her. "Ms... Mrs... oh, excuse me, President Ortiz! I was just wrapping up a board meeting. I'll be right down to escort you up."
Such a massive internal shakeup was earth-shattering news in their circles. Mr. Tanner was sweating bullets over the bombshell situation. He had been at the Croix Anniversary Gala a few days ago and witnessed Sebastian publicly embracing Raelynn, which explained why he was stumbling over her title now.
Still, he was a shrewd man.
Since she had literally been given the company, she definitely wouldn't want to be seen as just an appendage to Mr. Croix. Calling her 'President Ortiz' was the smart, respectful move.
Hearing the sheer caution in his voice, Raelynn let out a soft laugh. "It's fine, I can come up myself. There's no need to be so nervous. Let's just handle this like a normal handover."
Mr. Tanner instantly let out a sigh of relief. He hadn't expected the legitimate Mrs. Croix to be so humble and agreeable.
She was certainly much easier to deal with than... a certain someone in the R&D group.
The receptionists had obviously been briefed by Mr. Tanner or the executives.
