Chapter 131
“You think you’ve won? Think again.”
She stepped forward, her voice dropping into a venomous whisper.
“This isn’t over. I’ll make sure you go back to where you belong – a nobody… a maid’s daughter.” Her eyes darkened with cruelty.
“Sometimes I wish Mom had gotten rid of you too, along with your useless mother.”
For a brief moment, something flickered in Cassie’s eyes — pain, sharp and deep but it vanished as quickly as it came, buried beneath cold restraint.
Red’s voice followed, low and dangerous.
“Pray that nothing happens to my wife and my mother in prison, Cassidy,” he uttered, his expression hard and unforgiving.
“Because if anything does… I will deal with you myself.”
He leaned closer, his words heavy with threat.
“I will make sure you fall. I will bring you down.”
Cassie stood still between them, her face calm, composed
her.

“You can’t scare me anymore, Mr. Knowles,” Cassie said quietly. There was no tremor in her voice, no hesitation-only a cold certainty that made her words heavier than any threat.
“I’ll be waiting to see what you’re capable of.” Her lips curved into a faint, ominous smile.
“Because I fully intend for your mother and your wife to face the consequences of what they did. I intend for them to suffer.” She held his sharp gaze without flinching.
Mirriam’s face twisted with fury.
“You bitch,” she hissed through clenched teeth.
Cassie let out a soft, humorless breath.
“I know,” she replied calmly.
“But certainly not more than you are.” The quiet sneer in her voice only fueled Mirriam’s rage.

Red stared at Cassie for a long moment, his eyes dark with restrained anger, but he said nothing more. Whatever words he had seemed to die in his throat. With a stiff turn, he walked away, his steps sharp and rigid.
Mirriam cast one last venomous glare before following him.
Cassie remained where she was, watching their retreating figures as they stormed out of the lobby.
Only when they disappeared did the tension slowly leave her shoulders.
Her chest felt heavy-tight with the weight of everything that had happened, everything that had been said. Yet beneath the heaviness was something else.
Relief.
For the first time, seeing their desperation, their anger, their helplessness…. she felt a quiet sense of vindication.
As if, somehow-she had finally done something for her mother. And for herself.

With steady steps and a lighter disposition, Cassie continued toward her destination as if the confrontation had never happened.
By the time she reached the company lobby, her expression was calm again-composed, controlled, untouched.
Zandrie was already waiting.
Without exchanging many words, they walked side by side toward the elevator. The doors slid openi, and the moment they stepped inside and the space closed around them, Zandrie spoke.
“CEO Pierce made a motion to the board to rename the company.”
Cassie turned to him immediately, her brows knitting in confusion.
“Rename the company? Again?”
It had only been a week since she had renamed it. Ashton moving to change it again made no sense.
Zandrie didn’t wait for her next question.
“Greene Corporation.”
Cassie froze for a second.
“With the justification that the Knowles family no longer holds any shares,” he continued.
“And considering the scandal surrounding them right now, rebranding the company as Greene Corporation is… timely. Strategic. And frankly-clever.”
He shook his head, a quiet note of admiration and disbelief in his tone.
“The board approved it. Including me.” He glanced at her with a teasing smirk.
“Your lover boy really knows how to play his moves.”
Cassie rolled her eyes, though she couldn’t deny the surprise rising inside her. She hadn’t expected this.
Not this fast. Not this precisely timed.
Before she could fully process it, Zandrie spoke again.
“CEO Pierce also proposed a deal to me.”
That caught her full attention.
“A deal?” she asked, turning to him.
“He wants to buy back all of Malakai Group’s shares.”
Cassie blinked. “What?”
“The entire stake,” Zandrie confirmed.
“Every share Malakai Group holds in Greene Corporation.”
Her confusion deepened.
“What is he thinking?” she muttered.

“Pierce Corporation is already a multi-billion conglomerate. Why would he want full control of a company that’s only worth a few hundred million?”
Zandrie looked at her, the corner of his mouth lifting.

“He’s not keeping it.”
Cassie’s heart skipped.
“He’s going to gift it to you.”
She stared at him, stunned.
“He’s going to… what?”
“He plans to transfer the company to you,” Zandrie said plainly.
“So your revenge comes full circle.” His voice softened, but the weight of the words remained.
“You’ve already sent Rima and Valerie to prison. The Knowles have lost their wealth, their power, their name.”
He paused.
“And now, their company will no longer carry their legacy.”
He looked at her meaningfully.
“It will carry your mother’s.”
Cassie stood frozen, the elevator quietly ascending.
“To finish everything,” Zandrie added, shaking his head in quiet amazement.
“He’s taking what the Knowles built… and placing it in your hands.” A slow breath left him.
“CEO Ashton Pierce…” he murmured.
“That man is truly something.”
