Chapter 167
Marria
Vierce had called her Mama
“Mama ouche !
Cassie’s attention snapped back to the boy when he lifted his small arm toward her.
A bright red mark wrapped around it
Her heart dropped
“What happened here?” she asked sharply, already kneeling in front of him.
The moment she examined his arm, horror flashed across her face.
Distinct nail marks were embedded in the reddened skin. Her expression darkened instantly.
Cassie rose to her feet and faced the two women, fury blazing in her eyes.
“What have you done?”
Maricris recovered quickly, straightening her posture and brushing an invisible speck from her sleeve as if the situation were beneath her
“We were just playing,” she said casually
“I didn’t realize my grip had gotten a little tight.”
Despite the explanation, arrogance still colored her tone as she faced Cassie.
“Madame”
The sharp rise in Cassie’s voice immediately drew attention. The nanny and the security guards hurried toward them, concern etched on their faces.
But Cassie did not even glance their way. Her entire focus was locked on the two women standing in
front of her
“It’s ouchie here,” Kai said softly, holding up his arm again. His small fingers touched the red nail marks,
his lips trembling slightly.
“Kai doesn’t like them…”
The simple confession made something inside Cassie snap.
“You dare lay a hand on Kai?” she said, stepping forward, her jaw clenched so tightly the muscle ticked.
Maricris lifted her chin, though she instinctively took a step back as Cassie advanced.

“Don’t overreact like you’re his mother just because the boy calls you mama,” she replied arrogantly, her lips curling with contempt.
But Cassie had already stopped listening. In one swift, brutal motion, her hand shot forward and grabbed Maricris by the face.
Her fingers dug into the woman’s cheeks, nails pressing sharply into the skin.
“Ahhh! My face!” Maricris shrieked in panic, her hands flying up to claw at Cassie’s wrist.
Tanya froze beside them, completely stunned.
“You hurt him?” Cassie muttered, her voice low and terrifyingly calm as her grip tightened.
“You bitch! Get off me! Help!” Maricris screamed, struggling wildly now.
“She’s assaulting me!”
“Unhand her! You bitch!” Tanya finally snapped out of her shock and rushed forward to help.
She barely took two steps. Cassie moved without even looking at her.
Her leg shot out in a sharp kick that caught Tanya squarely in the stomach.
“Ugh-!”
Tanya gasped as the force sent her stumbling backward before she crashed hard onto the polished lobby floor, her purse scattering beside her.
The nanny gasped.
The security guards exchanged startled looks, unsure whether to intervene.
Meanwhile, Maricris was still trapped in Cassie’s iron grip.
“You think you can hurt him and walk away?” Cassie said quietly, her eyes blazing with fury.
Maricris struggled desperately, her carefully styled hair now disheveled.
“You crazy woman! Let go of me!”
Kai stood a few steps behind Cassie, clutching the nanny’s hand now, his teary eyes wide as he watched.
“Yes,” Cassie said with a faint, chilling smirk. “I am crazy. What will you do about it?” And then she dug her nails deeper.
“Ahhh-!”
Maricris’s scream pierced the lobby as sharp pain shot across her face. Cassie’s nails had broken the skin now, thin lines of blood beginning to surface where her fingers pressed.
“Help!” Maricris cried, her voice shaking with panic. Yet she barely dared to move.

The cold fury in Cassie’s eyes made it painfully clear–if she struggled too much, Cassidy might do something far worse to her face.
“You will answer to CEO Pierce for hurting his cousin, you bitch!” Tanya spat from the floor, still trying to recover from the kick. She shot Cassie a venomous glare, her pride bruised as much as her body.
“Madame…” one of the security guards stepped forward cautiously, clearly uneasy with the escalating
scene
“Miss Maricris’s face is bleeding.”
“What are you waiting for?!” Maricris shrieked. “Get this bitch off me!”
The guard hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. Then he straightened and spoke carefully.
“Pardon me, Miss Maricris. I can only take orders from CEO Pierce… and Madame Cassidy.”
“You idiot!” Maricris snapped furiously.
“I’m CEO Pierce’s cousin!”
“My mama is my papa’s beloved,” Kai suddenly declared from a few steps away.
The boy stood beside the nanny, his small chest puffed out with pride. The simple statement fell over the lobby like a dropped glass.
Several employees who had quietly gathered nearby turned their heads in surprise.
Tanya and Maricris both stared at him, stunned.
“What is happening here?!”
The thunderous voice cut through the tension like a blade.
Everyone froze.
A moment later, the unmistakable presence of CEO Ashton Pierce filled the lobby as he strode toward them, his sharp gaze sweeping across the chaotic scene–the crowd, Tanya sprawled on the floor… and Cassie gripping Maricris by the face.
