Roel Danes’ voice cut through the noise, sharp and dripping with malice as he positioned himself right in front of Ashton- perfectly framed for the swarm of cameras crowding the entrance of Pierce Corporation’s main building.

Flashes exploded like lightning. Microphones were thrust forward.

The entire scene felt like a feeding frenzy.

“This morning doesn’t seem to be going well for you, CEO Pierce,” Roel added with a sneer, clearly savoring every second of the spectacle.

Around them, reporters surged closer, their voices overlapping in a chaotic wave of questions.

“CEO Pierce! What is your response to the allegations against Pierce Corporation and Malakai Group?”

“Is it true that your company engaged in illegal negotiations?”

“Where is Chairman Cassidy Greene?”

“Is she avoiding the issue?”

“How do you plan to address these accusations?”

“Is Malakai Group involved in intellectual theft?”

The questions came one after another-sharp, relentless, leaving no space for answers.

But Ashton didn’t move.

He stood at the center of it all, composed and unshaken, his presence alone enough to create an invisible boundary the crowd couldn’t quite cross.

His gaze lifted slowly-and landed on Roel.

Cold. Steady. Unimpressed.

For a brief moment, the chaos around them seemed to dim.

“You’ve always been… ambitious, President Danes,” Ashton said at last, his voice calm but carrying effortlessly through the

noise.

A faint smirk touched his lips.

“But desperation doesn’t suit you.”

A ripple moved through the reporters, sensing the shift.

Roel’s expression tightened slightly, but he forced out a laugh.

“Deflecting already, CEO Pierce?” he shot back.

“Or do you simply have no explanation for your actions?”

Ashton didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took a single step forward.

The movement alone caused the nearest reporters to instinctively pull back.

“Allegations,” Ashton repeated, almost thoughtfully.

“Built on speculation… and delivered by a man whose own company is collapsing

A few gasps slipped through the crowd. Roel’s smile faltered.

“Be careful,” Ashton continued, his tone dropping just enough to send a chill through those closest to him.

“Throwing accusations without proof tends to… backfire.”

His eyes never left Roel’s.

“And when it does,” he added quietly, “there won’t be anything left to salvage.”

For a fraction of a second-Silence.

Then the media exploded again, louder, more aggressive, sensing blood in the air.

“Don’t be too cocky, CEO Pierce,” Roel snapped, quickly regaining his footing. A sharp, snide smirk returned to his face as he

lifted his chin.

“This is only the beginning. Soon, everyone will see through Pierce Corporation’s tricks.”

He gestured toward the cameras, as if presenting evidence to the world.

“We have substantial proof of your anomalous activities,” he declared, his voice rising with renewed confidence.

“Documents, transactions-everything.”

A murmur rippled through the reporters. Questions intensified.

“And where,” Roel continued, glancing around with exaggerated curiosity, “is the brilliant chairman of Malakai Group?”

He paused just long enough to let the tension build.

“Has she already fled?” he added, his tone mocking.

“Saving herself before everything collapses?”

The crowd stirred, whispers spreading like wildfire. All eyes instinctively searched the surroundings-as if expecting Cassidy to appear out of thin air.

But Ashton didn’t so much as glance around. He didn’t react. Didn’t rise to the bait.

Instead, he adjusted his cuffs with unhurried precision, as though the entire scene in front of him was nothing more than minor inconvenience.

“I don’t have time to entertain baseless noise, President Danes,” he said calmly.

Then, without another word, he stepped forward-continuing toward the towering entrance of Pierce Corporation.

Security immediately moved, creating a path for him.

“CEO Pierce! Are you denying the allegations?”

“Is Malakai involved?”

“Where is Chairman Greene?”

“Are you going to respond?”

The questions chased after him, voices overlapping, desperate.

But Ashton didn’t slow down. Not even once.

Behind him, Roel’s smirk tightened-just slightly as he watched the man walk away without a single backward

“I won’t let this opportunity slip,” Roel muttered under his breath, his eyes still fixed on the glass doors where Ashton had just disappeared.

“This is where you fall, Ashton Pierce.”

His lips curled into a thin, malicious smile.

“The Pierces have ruled this land long enough.

Outside, chaos reigned.

Inside, silence.

The moment Ashton stepped into the Pierce Corporation building, the noise faded behind him as if it had been sealed away. Employees straightened at his presence, tension rippling through the lobby, but no one dared to speak.

He walked straight through it all-calm, composed-yet the tightening of his jaw and the faint clench of his fists betrayed the storm brewing beneath.

By the time he reached his office, his expression had settled into something colder. Sharper.

Controlled.

He stepped in without pause.
