Bound By A Broken Night novel Chapter 216

Chapter 216

“Did you really think I’d let this play out?” he added, his tone edged with cold fury.

“That I’d just stand here while you try to cut me down with this kind of nonsense?” A faint, humorless smile crossed his lips.

“Delusional.”

His foot lashed out.

“Urgh-!”

The impact sent another wave of pain through them, their bodies jerking under the force.

Gasps, whispers, movement-people snapping out of their stunned silence as fear settled in

“CEO Wright!” Mirriam’s voice rang out, strained now. “Do you see this? CEO Fierce is abusing his power!”

Her eyes flicked anxiously to the two men on the floor.

“He has the audacity to attack your people-right in front of you!”

She pushed the words forward, trying to turn the moment.

Vasili turned his head toward her. Calm and unreadable.

“CEO Pierce is saving me the effort,” he said flatly.

“I was about to deal with those two traitors myself.”

The words dropped without weight-yet they hit harder than anything else said in the room.

“C-CEO Wright…!” Belsky tried to crawl toward him, desperation overtaking pain.

He didn’t make it far. A sharp kick sent him back. A collective gasp echoed.

But neither Ashton nor Vasili reacted. They simply watched.

“CEO Wright… we-we were just following orders…” Lukin forced the words out, his voice shaking as he struggled to lift his head.

“We were threatened… if we didn’t comply…” he added, glancing between the two men, fear now replacing arrogance.

“They said they’d kill us-”

“Threatened?” Vasili cut in.

His tone changed. Not louder. Just colder.

“Who threatened you, Lukin?”

He leaned forward slightly, his gaze locking onto the man.

“I want a name.”

There was no room for hesitation in his voice. None for excuses.

Only an expectation-that the answer would come now.

“He’s too powerful-he holds influence even within the Petrovs,” Belsky stammered, his voice unsteady as he struggled to keep himself upright.

“If we expose him, he’ll turn everything against us. We won’t survive it, CEO Wright.”

His hands trembled as he tried to steady himself.

“Please… you have to protect us,” he went on, desperation bleeding into every word.

“This man presents himself as one of the Petrovs’ most trusted allies-but behind that, he’s been working against you. Quietly. Carefully.”

Lukin nodded weakly, forcing himself to speak through the pain.

“He’s been moving in the shadows,” he added.

“Positioning himself. Gathering influence. Resources. Billions in capital-enough to build something capable of challenging the Petrovs.”

A ripple of unease spread through the room. But at the center of it-Vasili Wright remained still. No one could tell what he was thinking.

“He started with Malakai Group,” Belsky rushed to continue, mistaking the silence for consideration.

“That’s why he sent us here. It may look like a rising company-but it already holds significant assets. It’s gaining ground globally.”

“He plans to take Pierce Corporation next,” Lukin added quickly, glancing at Ashton before looking back at Vasili.

“It may be based in Bay City, but its reach is expanding. Its influence is growing outside the region.”

Their voices overlapped in urgency now.

“He’s building something against you,” Belsky insisted.

“Piece by piece,” Lukin followed.

For a moment, the room held its breath.

Then-

“There’s someone bold enough to move against the Petrovs… and use my name while doing it?”

Vasili’s voice cut through the air.
