Bound by the Past, Locked by the Heart novel Chapter 140

"Maybe she's just a beast in the bedroom. Not like you've tried it yourself."

The small group of men chuckled in hushed tones, their laughter shrill and dripping with malice.

Willa's grip on her glass tightened.

Taking a deep breath, she repeatedly told herself not to let it get to her.

She had heard comments like this a million times before, and she'd likely hear them a million more. She couldn't control what came out of other people's mouths.

Just as that thought crossed her mind, a massive crash rang out, followed by the sound of shattering glass.

Willa's head snapped up. She saw Randal standing on his feet, his face terrifyingly cold, his eyes violently churning with that familiar, murderous rage.

The men who had just been whispering malicious gossip now looked as pale as ghosts.

"What were you all talking about? I'd love to hear it too," Randal demanded, locking his eyes onto one of them, his voice cold enough to freeze blood.

The man opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

Randal took a step forward, and the man immediately stumbled back.

"Spit it out," his voice grew even colder. "You guys had plenty to say a second ago."

"Mr... Mr. Yates, I... we were just making small talk..."

"Small talk?" Randal repeated every syllable with a terrifyingly vicious edge.

The man's face drained of whatever color was left.

"Who else was running their mouths just now?"

Nobody dared to utter a peep.

"I asked you a question. Who else was talking?!" Randal's voice skyrocketed, his entire body trembling with rage.

The men were so terrified their legs nearly gave out. One of them stammered out, "Mr. Yates, I was wrong. I was so wrong. I shouldn't have talked nonsense..."

Randal stared him down, his lips pulling into a wicked, sadistic sneer. "Who the hell do you think you are? You think you're worthy of discussing her?"

He turned his head, his gaze sweeping across the entire private booth. "From now on, if anyone in this circle dares to say a single word against her, don't blame me for showing no mercy."

He paused, a terrifyingly cold smile curling the corners of his mouth.

"If I hear something like this again, the bottle won't just hit the floor. It'll be smashed over your head."
