Willa checked the time. It was nine-thirty in the evening.
Randal probably wasn't asleep yet.
She got out of bed and walked over to the master bedroom door.
The door was closed, warm light spilling out from the crack.
She raised her hand, hesitated for a few seconds, and then knocked.
She waited a long time before the door was pulled open.
Randal was shirtless, his hair still dripping wet. Beads of water slid down his toned chest and disappeared into the towel wrapped around his waist.
"What's wrong?"
Willa's face heated up, and she looked away. "Put some clothes on first."
He smirked, his smile playful. "You've seen me completely naked before, what's there to be afraid of?"
"Then let me in first."
She shot him a glare and tried to squeeze past him.
He blocked the doorway, looking at her with an amused expression, a hint of roguish charm in his eyes.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to knock on my door dressed like that in the middle of the night?"
Willa looked down at the plain cotton nightgown she was wearing.
It was as ordinary as could be, but after his comment, she suddenly felt inexplicably self-conscious, as if she really were wearing too little.
"I..." she forced herself to stay calm. "I just came to talk to you about something. Do I need to change my clothes for that?"
Randal stopped teasing her and stepped aside.
Willa walked in quickly and sat down on the chair next to the bed.
He followed and sat on the edge of the bed opposite her, his posture casual.
The towel rode up slightly, barely covering his thighs.
She took one look and quickly averted her eyes.
"Go ahead, what is it?" Randal asked.
Willa handed him her phone. "Look at this."
