Bound by the Past, Locked by the Heart novel Chapter 192

She walked over to the bed, expertly checking the IV drip and the monitors, then injected a dose of painkillers into Willa's line. Her tone softened slightly. "The medication will kick in soon, and you'll feel a bit drowsy. If the pain gets unbearable, just press the call button on your nightstand."

Willa nodded and whispered a thank you.

Before leaving, the nurse glanced at the wound on Randal's forehead and reminded him, "You need to get that dressing changed too. Don't put it off."

"Got it. I'll go once she's asleep," Randal replied absentmindedly, his gaze never leaving Willa.

After the nurse left, the suffocating tension in the room eased just a fraction.

Corbin pulled Sophie behind him, his expression solemn. "Randal, you have to understand. Willa is a person, not your property. She has the right to choose where she stays. Tying her down like this will only push her further away."

"Corbin, this is none of your business." The hostility and guardedness in Randal's eyes flared instantly, his voice dripping with ice.

"Stop eyeing things that don't belong to you. I haven't even settled the score with you for this recent mess. You'd better keep your sister in check and stay out of my affairs."

He turned his attention back to Willa on the bed, his gaze softening abruptly, though his tone remained dripping with obsession. "She's not going anywhere. She will stay right by my side."

"Only by my side is she safe. I won't let anyone hurt her ever again..."

"Keep her safe?" Sophie peeked out from behind her brother, her eyes red as she challenged him. "You're treating her like a prisoner!"

"What do you know?" It was as if her words had struck a raw nerve. Randal's eyes shifted, his tone stubbornly unyielding. "Let me tell you, she owes me this. She owes me the rest of her life by my side!"

"What does she owe you? Randal, you treat her like this, karma is going to catch up with you sooner or later..."

Willa acutely sensed the volatile agitation brewing in Randal's eyes. Terrified he was about to lose control again, she quickly intervened. "Sophie, I'm so tired. I want to sleep for a bit. You guys should head back first."

Sophie wanted to argue, but Corbin firmly held her down.
