Bound by the Past, Locked by the Heart novel Chapter 259

Randal had already changed into his custom suit and was preparing to head into the banquet hall.

He pulled his phone from his pocket and checked the screen. Willa still hadn't replied to his messages.

She was probably angry.

In the end, he had still hurt her.

His mood plummeted, and he even began to question whether using the Sterling family's connections to enter Vanguard Properties was truly the right decision.

But Jace's accident had haunted him for six years, transforming into a nightmare he couldn't escape night after night.

Now that he was finally scraping the edge of the truth, how could he possibly just let it go?

As he approached the stage, the phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated.

He pulled it out and saw a message from an unknown number.

There was no text, only a single photograph.

In the photo, Willa was curled up in a corner, her hair a messy tangle. Her clothes had been viciously ripped open, and her exposed shoulders and stomach were covered in dirt.

Randal's fingers started to tremble. Something completely shattered in his mind.

He spun around and headed straight for the exit, but someone suddenly grabbed his wrist in an iron grip.

"Randal, what's wrong? The ceremony is starting in a minute. The guests are seated, the press is here. Where do you think you're going?"

He forcefully pried Scarlett's fingers off him, not even bothering to look back.

Scarlett called after him, panic edging her voice. "Are you really going to do this? If you walk out those doors right now, the Yates and Sterling families are completely finished. You will never, ever get into Vanguard Properties."

Randal froze in his tracks, his chest heaving violently.

From behind, a staff member's voice called out urgently, "Mr. Yates, Ms. Sterling, the ceremony is starting. It's time to take the stage."

Scarlett took a step forward and grabbed his wrist again, her eyes pleading. "Randal, let's go. Everyone is watching."

Randal let out a heavy, shuddering exhale, and finally, he made a decision he would regret for the rest of his life.

"I'm going to make a call. I'll be right there."
