Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 595

"Scram, all of you!" Donovan seethed. "As you can see, Giselle is sick. If any of you dare run your mouths and upset her again, I'll sever ties with you for good! From now on, none of you are allowed to go near her."

His outburst left the room in stunned silence. No one dared utter a word, even if they were fuming inside.

"Come on, we should leave." Ethan broke the silence to ease the tension. "Don's injured, and now Giselle just had an episode. Of course, he's in a bad mood. Let's give him some space and head home first."

Knowing Donovan's temper, Dorothea didn't argue and left with them.

Once they were in the car, Grace exploded, "Don has really crossed the line this time. All because of that woman, he doesn't even care about us anymore. I can't believe he actually said he'd sever ties with us!"

Ethan shot her a death glare. "You're the one who started it. Seriously, you never know when to shut up!"

"I—"

"That's enough!" Dorothea's thoughts were all over the place. The image of Giselle's epileptic episode was still fresh in her mind as she muttered under her breath, "Has Giselle even been officially diagnosed? Can her illness be cured?"

"Cured? Don't be ridiculous, Dorothea," Grace scoffed, fanning the flames. "She almost died back then. The fact that she even survived and recovered this much is already a miracle. Epilepsy is something she'll live with forever. If it could be cured, she would've been fine already…"

Ethan chimed in lowly, "She will be on medication every day. Maybe for a decade or two. Her body will never be the same, and she can't be upset or triggered. So, from now on, we must be mindful of what we say and do around her. Don't be too harsh on her."

Dorothea fell silent for a long while. She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that Giselle was left with such a lasting aftereffect.

Ethan snapped, "Stop exaggerating! If Don catches wind of this, he's going to blow up again. I'm so sick of you!"

Dorothea fell silent, but her heart felt increasingly heavy. She couldn't help but sigh, "I have no idea what's going on with Don. Why is his love life always such a mess? There's always an issue…"

"Yeah. For better or worse, it looks like he's committed to being with this woman for the rest of his life," Grace responded. "We can't talk him into divorcing Giselle now, so we should just let them live their life. However, when it comes to having kids, we have to step in."

"How are we supposed to step in at this point?"

"We can persuade them not to have children," Grace suggested. "Giselle is in no condition to have children. If she does, it'll only drag Don down. Worst case, they can adopt… or figure out something else."
