"What do you think?" Vivienne asked with a gloomy look. "After I gave birth last year, Renee stayed with me the whole time. Initially, she treated me well. She even booked a luxury postpartum center for me. But she was unbelievably controlling.

"Except when I breastfed, she never let him out of her arms. Then, when the baby was only two months old, she suddenly insisted on taking him back to the Holt residence to raise him on her own. She even asked me to cut all ties with him."

Giselle didn't seem the least surprised when she heard that. "Then what happened? Did you really agree to do that?"

"Of course I didn't want to! I carried him for ten months. How could I bring myself to give him away?

"You were right, Selle. I used to hate kids, but once I had my own, my motherly instincts kicked in. He was so small. I couldn't bear to hand him over to anyone…

"Yet, Renee was ruthless. She said I'd get married someday, and if he knew I was still alive, he'd never fully see the Holts as his real family. So, she forced me to stay out of his life for good."

"So, she took him from you?"

"Yeah." Tears rolled down Vivienne's cheeks. "That day, she showed up with a group of men, snatched my baby away from me, and wired me two million dollars, like she was paying a surrogate. Since then, I haven't been able to see him. I can't even get through the gates of the Holt residence!"

Giselle sighed. "So, what are you planning to do now? If you really want your kid back, you could fight for custody. Before he turns two, the court would almost definitely side with you."

Vivienne forced a smile and shook her head. "I don't think I can wait until he's all grown up. Every day feels like torture. I keep wondering what he looks like now. I'd be happy just to see a photo of him…"

Giselle said, "At this point, you can only go with the flow. Renee only became this extreme because she lost her son. Give it a few years. Maybe she'll change her mind."

"Yeah. When you think about it, she's actually quite pitiful. In just a year, she lost both her son and her daughter. She has nothing left except money." Vivienne snorted. "I guess that's karma."

"She lost Anne?"
