Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 612

"Sorry!" Giselle apologized without looking up and tried to run again.

"Giselle?" Just when she was about to bolt, a familiar voice sounded above her. The man she had bumped into grabbed her arm.

When she looked up, she was surprised to see Gideon, whom she had not seen in almost a month.

"You?" Her heart lurched at the sight of his familiar face. She stammered, "You're back… What are you doing here?"

"I'm meeting someone for dinner. Giselle, why are you here alone?" Gideon had not expected to run into her, especially in a dim corner like this. For a moment, he even wondered if he was imagining it.

"I…"

The embarrassment from earlier flashed through her mind, along with the fear that Donovan might chase after her and misunderstand everything.

She hurriedly pulled her arm back and replied, "I came here with Donovan for a dinner meeting."

Then, she quickly came up with an excuse. "The smell in the private room was so strong that I felt nauseous. So, I'm heading to the car to wait for him."

"Oh, I see," Gideon said.

He studied her face carefully. Her complexion looked healthier and rosier than before, which brought him a hint of relief. "Have you two completely made up? About your condition, has it been stable lately?"

"Everything is fine," Giselle replied flatly.

Gideon seemed ready to continue catching up, but Giselle felt the warning signs of an episode creeping up. She only wanted to reach the car as fast as possible, so she forced a polite goodbye.

Then, he realized he had spent a whole year trying to win her over without success, while Donovan only needed a few days to bring light back to her once-dim eyes.

The loneliness and absurdity of it all hit him again.

Meanwhile, in the private room, Donovan panicked the moment Giselle ran out. He was too worried about her safety to stay another second there.

When he spotted Marselle's smug and childish expression, a surge of cold anger rose within him. In that instant, he realized he needed to sever every remaining tie with this toxic woman.

As someone who had always been calm and rational in business, Donovan made a rare, impulsive decision for the first time.
