Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 668

Anne's unusual behavior made Giselle do a double-take, then quickly look away.

"Yeah, long time no see. I thought you'd long be dead and rotting by now," she shot back, throwing back the same jab Anne had given her when she just returned from Sithora.

Still, Anne looked unfazed.

"I'm sorry I let you down," she replied meekly. "I have to say, we really are sisters. We both fought over the same man, both nearly died once in the same place, and yet we're still alive—"

"I don't have time to reminisce with you." Giselle cut her off.

The moment she thought of all the incidents Anne had orchestrated behind her back, she didn't even want to hear a single word from her. The last thing she wanted was for Anne to come near her.

"If you're just here to flaunt that you survived—congratulations, you've achieved your goal," she said. "Now, please leave immediately!"

"What's wrong, Giselle? Are you scared of me?"

Maintaining her harmless facade, Anne took a step closer. Resentment filled her eyes, yet a cold sneer tugged at her lips.

"I actually came to reconcile with you, Giselle," she continued. "What I experienced this year made me realize how much I've hurt you.

"Now, I've lost everything. You got everything you wanted, and I'm willing to admit defeat…"

Those words did more than just disgust Giselle.

"Yeah, I have everything." She snorted, struggling to keep her impatience in check. "The only thing I'm not satisfied with is that Donovan wasn't ruthless enough back then. He spared your life. If you were dead, then I'd truly be the happiest woman on earth."

The sorrowful look in Anne's eyes vanished, replaced by indifference. Her cold gaze slowly morphed into one of malice, yet Giselle didn't notice the change at all.

Giselle's phone rang when she was about to throw Anne out of her office.

She glanced at it, realizing it was from the staff at her clinic. She reached out with her right hand to answer.

Just as she was entering the passcode, Anne suddenly whipped out a small blade from somewhere and drove it into the back of Giselle's left hand.

A piercing scream escaped her lips.
