Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 722

Anne then lowered her voice and laid out the details of her vicious scheme.

Chris remained silent throughout, offering no objections.

When she finished, he simply darkened his expression and said, "Three days from now. We follow your plan."

"Good." Seeing that he had fully made up his mind without a hint of hesitation, Anne could not help but lean in and wrap her arms around his neck. "That's the Orin Sontara I know. As long as you don't go soft, Donovan and that bitch don't stand a chance against you."

Chris, however, shoved her away and stood up abruptly. "You've said your piece. I'm leaving."

"Where are you going?" Anne asked, reluctant to let him go. "Didn't you take time off from her? You're not going back tonight anyway. It's just one night. Stay here with me."

"It's not safe," replied Chris.

"How is it not safe?" Anne countered. "This is my private villa. It has a state-of-the-art security system. No one is going to snap photos of us-"

"I'm leaving!" Chris did not want to hear another word.

Clutching his phone, he headed straight for the door, walking faster and faster as if he were fleeing a crime scene.

Anne stood at the doorway, not chasing after him. She watched blankly as his figure disappeared into the night, leaving her feeling hollow and dejected.

She was not oblivious to how little Chris actually felt for her.

Renee still had not recovered from the trauma of Anne's year-long disappearance.

She had hired two bodyguards to protect Anne, but she also enforced a strict rule. Anne had to come home every single day. Staying out overnight was forbidden.

If Anne was not back by 9:00 pm, Renee went berserk. She would call incessantly, launch a desperate manhunt, and if she failed to track her down, she would not hesitate to involve the cops.

"Mom, stop acting like a psycho," Anne said, leaning back on the couch. "I made it back alive from that living hell. Do you really think I'm afraid of anything now?

"You need to get a life. Stop focusing all your energy on me. Go find a man, or focus on your career."

With Anson Pharmaceuticals now under Giselle's control, Renee had not found a way to take it back.
