Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 740

"Y-You... What are you going to do?"

Seeing the look in his eyes, Anne felt a little terrified. "Let go of me! You're hurting me..."

Chris didn't kill her. Instead, he violently pinned her to the floor and tore at her clothes, venting his primal desire on her like a beast.

From the living room to the dining table, then to the bathroom… his intensity was relentless, and Anne found herself swept up in the storm.

This frenzy of his was exactly what Anne was obsessed with—a pinnacle experience she had never gotten from the countless men she'd been with before.

After exhausting himself, Chris didn't go anywhere. He spent the night with her in the villa's bedroom.

Watching him sleep soundly beside her, Anne remained awake, yet she felt strangely satisfied. Her emotions calmed considerably.

As for the failed plan at the plantation, she no longer wanted to dwell on it. If it failed this time, there would be another chance. As long as she kept a firm hold on the man beside her, she believed she could still achieve her goal.

Her body instinctively pressed against the naked man beside her. She reached out to stroke his chest, then his neck, then moved her hand up to gently caress his face.

Though Chris had undergone cosmetic surgery, it was subtle and natural. He now looked more handsome than before, losing some of that rough, thuggish edge he once carried.

Maybe it was because he had stayed by Giselle's side too long, living the life of a "normal person". Now he exuded an air of uprightness. He never did like to talk. He only kept his head down and worked things silently, so people around him thought he was a good-natured man.

When Anne leaned in to kiss him again, he mumbled in his sleep, "Nora..."

But after only a short moment of writhing in hatred at the bedside, she recalled the tragic ordeal of being sold abroad. She decided not to let a moment's impulse ruin everything and forced herself to calm down.

She took another long look at the sleeping Chris. She did not wake him and lash out at him. Instead, she decided to wait until morning to talk to him, to have him stay away from Giselle for the time being, and resign from his job as a bodyguard.

After several days of bed rest to stabilize the pregnancy, the baby's vitals had temporarily returned to normal, though her physical condition was still somewhat weak. She had to remain hospitalized.

These days, Donovan canceled many of his important plans, staying by her bedside and hardly leaving her for a moment. Even Giselle's nutritional meals were freshly prepared in the ward's kitchen.
