I blushed and shrugged. ““I guess so I mean….I don’t know,” I stuttered.

Sarah laughed and nudged my side “Well I think you two make a cute couple. I can already tell you have him wrapped around your finger, bet you five bucks he’d do anything you asked.”

I laughed “I doubt that I’ve only known him for like a day.”

She shrugged unconcerned “People fall in love less then that,” she smiled at me a mischief glint in her eye. I gaped at her in disbelief “I’m not in love with your brother!” I stated a little too loud getting looks from people around us.

She snickered but left it alone.

“So this is my cousin Andrew and my friends Annie and Lilly,” Sarah stated when we reached a group of kids our age. Andrew had strawberry blonde hair and had that American boy look to him. Lilly had short black hair that spiked up everywhere. She was short as Sarah, looking like a pixie also. Annie on the other hand was taller than me and had bleach blonde waves that rested near her waist. I cringed at the thought of brushing all that hair. It resembled Taylor Swift’s hair a lot and I was grateful my hair was naturally straight.

“Sooo your Cameron’s woman?” Annie smirked eyeing me up.

“Uh I don’t know about that,” I laughed slightly embarrassed.

I jumped as an arm slide around my waist pulling me against a body.

“I’m hurt Emma I thought we had something special,” Cameron said mockingly a hand to his chest.

I rolled my eyes and smirked leaning fully into him,

Everyone eyed his arm around me with a surprised look and I wondered what that was about.

“So you ready to meet our Alpha?” Cameron asked pushing my hair behind my ear. Nerves attacked me instantly and I bit my lip.

“Come on he doesn’t bite,” Cameron joked.

“Yeah he’s really cool he’s use to hang out with us all the time before he had to go grow up and all that,” Sarah said rolling her eyes. “Apparently once your Alpha you can’t get blind drunk and go striking…booorring!”

I laughed and relaxed.

“We’ll be back,” Cameron told them before taking my hand and leading me back into the house.

“He’ll love you I promise,” Cameron grinned.

I hope so.

He led me toward what appeared to be the kitchen where laughter rumbled. I squeezed Cameron’s hand to ease my nerves making him smile at me,

A group of people a little older than me sat around table with cups in the hands and cards in front

of them.

“Alpha?” Cameron asked.

A handsome man at the head of the table still chuckling glanced our way our eyes connecting

I felt my breath catch and my heart rate speed up. I stumbled back as the Alpha jerked up from his chair surprise on his face. The face I’d seen at the club. The face that had been beside Lukes‘. Dear lord this was Luke’s friend,

“Emma are you okay?” Cameron asked worriedly.

“Don’t even think about it!….. Grab her!” The Alpha yelled as my eyes quickly glanced around the room looking for an exit.

I dodged two older men when they both grabbed for me. I turned and shoved a woman aside and ran for the front door. I felt like an animal that was being hunted and knew that death was quickly coming.

I reached for the handle when large arms wrapped around me lifting me into the air. I struggled violently but it was no use.

The party had grown quiet everyone gapping at the scene in front of them. Yeah what a great first impression to leave on someone.

“What the hell is going on?! Let Emma go!” Cameron growled confusioned, shock coloring his eyes.

The Alpha sighed and ran a hand through his hair while I glared at him hatefully.

“Emma you can’t hide from him anymore he’s going insane,” The Alpha told me sadly. A part of my heart ached at the thought of Luke in pain but the bigger part that was bruised and bloody made me laugh harshly. “He’s been fine without me for years now let me go!” I yelled.

“No he’s my best friend and I can’t watch him suffer like this when I know I can fix it. When YOU can fix it,” He told me in his Alpha voice.

I snarled at him making people gasp at the way I had just blatantly disrespected their Alpha. Well they were going to be even more shocked about what I was going to do next.
