Book2 Chapter28
Shadow snapped something at the people surrounding us and they quickly scattered. Shadow swung me into his arms
and ran up the stairs so fast everything turned into a blur. Suddenly we were in a huge room that smelled faintly of
him.
Clothes were scatterd across his unmade bed and a couple of the dresser drawers were open. I only had a second to
process this before I was slamed up agasint the wall harshly. I cried out in shock but it was quickly cut off as Shadow’s
lips crashed down on mine.
After that I forgot about how Shadow had ignored me the whole way here. I forgot the way I felt when he’d distended
himself. I forgot how Amber had clung against him her filthily hands touching him.
I forgot everything but how good he made me feel.
I woke up the next morning to a cold empty bed. Tears pressed the back of my eyes but I pushed them away.
I realised then the only reason he’d touched me last night was to calm me down.
Shaking my emotions off me I crawled out the bed and took a shower washing his scent off me suddenly feeling very
dirty.
Once I was dressed in a pair of jeans and a tight green tank top I pulled my hair into a loose pony tail and stepped out
into the hallway.
I blinked shocked as a little boy suddenly stumbled into my legs.
He whimpered and quickly hid behind me. I looked up just in time to see two older boys freeze. They stared at me in fear
and quickly turned running.
I frowned and turned around.
The little boy gaze up at me slightly scared.
“Are they gone?” he whisperd.
I bent down and got eye level with him.
“Yes their gone. Why were they following you?” I asked softly as to not scare him.
He looked down and twisted his hands nervously. He had curly black hair and the greenest eyes I’d ever seen. I knew he’d
be a heart breaker when he got older.
“They pick on me because my daddy is Alpha and they said he left because of me! the little boy then busted into tears

A Fire Couldn’t Destroy Her But His Betrayal Did
Instantly I pulled him into my arms, he appeared around the age of 4 and was quite small. I was shocked beyond words.
One because I couldn’t believe how cruel those boys could be to this child. An two because this child claimed to be
Shadows!
Betrayal strike deep inside me but I wasn’t going to hurt this child anymore then he had.
“Oh honey your daddy didn’t leave because of you” I tried to sooth.
The child sniffled and rubbed his eyes. “He didn’t?”
I shook my head. “No he didn’t I’m sure he can’t wait to see you again”
The child eyes widen in joy “Daddy’s here! He’s home!?”
I felt rage surge through me then. Shadow had never mentioned this child then he dosn’t even see him once he comes
home? What kind of father was he? Did I really want him to be father of my children?
“Yes he is why don’t we go find him” I forced a smile and pick him up on my hip.
“Your daddy’s mate aren’t you” He asked quietly almost shy.
Swallowing roughly I nodded. “Yes I am”
“Does that make you my mommy?” He asked quietly.
Surprised I came to halt “Don’t you already have a mommy?”
Tears welled in the child’s eyes. “No….she didn’t want me”
My heart ached for this child and my wolf deemed him ours that very second.
‘Of course I’ll be your mommy‘ I whispered pecking his cheek.
His eyes brightend and his hugged me around the neck tightly.
‘My names Blaze” He offered shyly.
I smiled at him warmly “And what a very cool name that is
He bearned at me proudly ‘I picked it myself!”
I smiled at him and walked down the hall and down the stairs. A few people bowed to me slighty murmuring Alpha
respectfully.
It was odd yet it felt right.
Blaze tucked his head on my shoulder his little black curls tickling my neck.
