After a while I finally pulled out his arms and hugged him goodbye as he was going to leave in a hour and wouldn’t be

back till me and Shadow were gone.

When I walked back into the room I was shocked to see Shadow thrashing in the bed his body covered in sweat. His face

was twisted in agony groans and whimpers escaping his lips.

Panicked slightly I quickly went to him placing my hands on his face.

“Shadow baby wake up‘ I pleaded.

He suddenly jerked up his hand wrapped around my throat.

I struggled for breath as his hand squeezed my throat.

He blinked and horror quickly washed across his face as he released me. I fell to the ground gasping and coughing.

‘Oh god Lena I’m so sorry I–I”

He reached for me but stopped him self disgust clear on his face. It was as if he was afraid to touch me.

I shook my head and went to him pressing my face against his chest. He quickly wrapped his arms around me his body

shaking slightly.

“I promised I woudn’t hurt you again but I did anyways.” He chocked out.

‘Shadow its okay, I’m fine‘ I rasped which only seemed to make him more upset.

He shook his head. ‘I’m messed up Lena I–I‘

I leaned and pressed my lips to his gently tears gathering in my eyes.

“Shadow please stop talking like….for me…please‘ I pleaded.

He nodded and buried his face in my hair not saying anything else. After a while i pulled back and kissed him again.

“What happen? Where you having a nightmare?” I asked softly.

“It was nothing don’t worry about‘ he told me stiffly.

‘Don’t lie to me I snapped stepping out of his arms.

He turned his head to the side and clenched his fist but not before I saw that they were shaking.

“How long have you been having these?” I asked strenly.

I felt a tear slip over “Why are you lying to me? I just want to help”

He said nothing and I swallowed the rest of my tears. “I told Simon we were leaving. I’m sure you need to call your pack

and let them know we’ll arrive soon”

With that I turned and walked out the room and out the cabin. I stared up at the sky and took deep breath refusing to

let my emotions rule me.

I was stronger then this for gods sake. I forced myself to be the person I was before I’d ever set eyes on Shadow, someone

who could take a bullet without blinking an eye. Someone who could watch man die while feeling nothing.

I closed my eyes and became what my grandfather created.

Shadow hadn’t spoken to me once since we gotten off the plane. I’d called my family and let them know what was going

1. on. My brothers had been a little disappointed I wouldn’t be coming back home and I nearly broke when I heard Lilly’s

plea for be to come back.

I was slightly shocked when my mother told me Uncle Lee would be at the pack house waiting for me and Shadow.

Apparently he’d be staying with us for a while. I didn’t ask why and my mother had no answer.

I told Shadow but he didn’t say anything so I guessed he didn’t care.

I hated the fact he was trying to distant himself for me.

Once we arrived at his pack house we were instantly engulfed by people. Shadow automatically moved to my side and

wrapped a arm around my wasit but he leaning away from me slighlty.

I pasted a smile on my face and nodded to the people around me. Feeling slightly like a freak show as everyone stared at

me gently tugged Shadow toward what appeared to be the pack house. After a moment he finally started to led me into

the house.
