I laughed as he told me a story about how Blaze had painted his entire room in chocolate syrup and manged to get half

the bottle on himself.

“Speaking of Blaze…..Shadow you should know about how Amber’s treated him” I sighed as my laughter died away.

Shadow’s playful expression disappeared and he looked up at the starry sky.

“I know you’ve been wondering about Amber and I should have told you soon but…” He took a deep breath and

continued.

“Amber was my high school sweet heart. We’d been together since the beginning of school. We were the ‘couple‘ you

know” He sighed.

I felt a little pain as he talked but let him continue.

“I knew I’d find my mate one day but I didn’t really think about you know? I mean I thought it was always understood

that once we found our mates we were through. I knew she wasn’t the one for me but I continued to go out with her

waiting for my mate….waiting for you.”

He grabbed my hand and started to draw random patterns on the back of my hand.

“I knew Amber was clingy hell she’d been clingy from the start but she was pretty and popular someone everyone

expected me to date. But after awhile and I still hadn’t found you I began to get worried. I started looking for you going

on trips and telling her it was business. She found out some how I was looking for mate so she did the first thing that

she knew would keep me connected to her.”

He sighed deeply.

‘She got pregnant‘ I whispered.

He looked at me gulitly and nodded. Trust me when I say I know how much of a mistake it was for me to keep sleeping

with her and I have no exuse but that I’m a male. A stupid, stupid male. I wasn’t sure the baby was mine at first but

after he was born I demanded a DNA test and got my answer.”

I squeezed his hand and waited for him to continue.

‘I knew my first born should have been with my mate but what was done was done. I focused solely on Blaze who’s name

is actually Brandon by the way” Shadow smirked.

‘Blaze decided when he was three that Blaze was cooler so I just let him. Anyways I focused on Blaze and Amber didn’t like

1. it. I–I didn’t realise how she was treating him at first. I mean I’d never expect the girl who I’d known for years to treat

her own son the way she had. I tried to talk to her but I knew it just made her even more angry. I couldn’t punish her

the way I would another pack mate because she was the mother of my child So gave her my attention in hope she’d

leave Blaze alone. It worked for awhile but then well I was taken and you know…. He glanced at me pain flashing in his

gaze before he blinked it away.

“The day after you left she came running into my office screaming about you trying to kill her

I felt my lips lift into a smile at the thought.

“I was going crazy without you and really didn’t give a rat’s ass what she was going on about. Finally I just snapped. I banned her from the pack and Blaze’s life. I hoped, no prayed you’d return and be the mother he needed even if you hated me. I knew I could survive the agony of losing you if it meant you would be their for Blaze.”

“So that’s why I havn’t seen her stupid face?” I asked happily.

Shadow stared at me for a couple seconds before bursting out laughing and wrapping his arms around me.

“Yes love thats why you havn’t seen her stupid face. I was so crazy just the sound of her voice had me wanting to rip her throat out. She’s been kicked out the pack and my life and I hope you can forgive me for making the mistake of ever touching her”

I pressed my forehead against his and smiled softly.

*Of course I forgive you Shadow. I mean if you hadn’t touched that slut then I wouldn’t have a brilliant little boy who

means the world to me.”

Shadow laughed and kissed me as if I was the most beautifull woman on earth. An as he whispered softly to me as the

last candle flickered out I smiled to myself.

“Best frist date ever” I whispered.

“You have to tell us everything!” Seven whispered loudly as she practically ran in the room baby Andrew cuddled in her
