‘We’ve already broken up, and I’ll be with whoever I want. Don’t you have a company to run, or a girlfriend of your own? Why are you meddling in my affairs all day?’
She sent another text. ‘Are you regretting things, Trevor? Either way, it’s too late. You can’t pay me enough to get back with you!”
After basically telling him to get lost, Serena blocked his new number.
Trevor’s assistant stared at the aggressive messages, feeling speechless. Why did his boss use his phone to send Serena a text?
What was he supposed to do now–show it to Trevor, or not?
This was bad, really bad.
After sending those messages, Serena stopped paying attention to the matter.
Instead, Mason was the first to notice the misleading direction the online discussion was taking. He immediately arranged for someone to leak the truth online using burner accounts, pointing out that it was the Steele family’s younger daughter.
As a result, by noon, Serena heard her colleagues‘ discussion.
“Turns out it was the younger daughter. We were wrong earlier, and the Steele family’s older daughter nearly took all the blame.”
“Honestly, I didn’t even know Steele Tech’s CEO had two daughters. I always thought he just had one.”
“Get this. Steele Tech’s eldest daughter is from the CEO’s first wife, who passed away early. And surprise, surprise–it’s the favored younger daughter who gets caught in a scandal. Doesn’t that make you wonder?”
After hearing them, Serena couldn’t help checking the news herself. Sure enough, every hint and direction now pointed squarely at Kyana.
Meanwhile, at the Steele residence, Kyana was throwing a fit.
“That b*tch! Look, Mom! She must’ve hired those trolls!”

“That’s enough, Kyana. With these photos out, everybody knows. Stay home and lie low for the time being.”
Yvonne was already at her wits‘ end. She had even started consulting doctors about the risks of forcing a pregnancy at forty–five. Since Kyana was useless, she could only hope to start over with a new kid–preferably a capable one.
Even better if she ended up with a son.
Otherwise, if Donald grew tired of his daughter, she would be finished too.
“Kyana, you should learn to play to your father’s favor. He listens to every word Serena says. Rather than wasting time overthinking, do something practical.”
Kyana felt deeply wronged.
That banquet had clearly been arranged by her mother, which meant Yvonne hadn’t planned things carefully enough. She had lost her virginity, yet somehow, it was all her fault.
“Ms. Steele responded to your text earlier, Mr. Levine. When the message came in, I thought it was spam and deleted it.” It was the best excuse the assistant could come up with.
Trevor frowned, clearly displeased. “How could it have been deleted?”
The assistant’s body stiffened, and he didn’t dare make a sound.
On second thought, Trevor figured Serena’s reply would probably have been nothing more than a string of curses.
“Alright, I get it. You can go back.”
When he saw the latest clarification online–that the person at the center of the scandal was actually Kyana–Trevor’s expression darkened.
