Chapter 151 Meeting Her
Chapter 151 Meeting Her
“Alright. I’ll let them know. If you’re fine, head back first.”
Trevor exhaled, tension draining from his shoulders. “Thanks, Uncle Sebastian.”
Sebastian waved it off. “It’s nothing. We’re family.”
Maybe Trevor imagined it, but the phrase sounded empty, like something said out of habit rather than warmth.
After Trevor left, Mason stepped inside.
“Mr. Levine, should we remove the trending topic?”

Sebastian raised an eyebrow lazily. “Why the rush? If she had the guts to plagiarize, she should be ready to deal with the backlash.”
“But you told Mr. Trevor you would…”
“What did I say?” Sebastian replied lightly. “I said I’d look into it. I never promised I’d delete anything.”
He never misspoke.
Every word he used left him room to maneuver.
Trevor had barely reached the parking lot when his phone buzzed. The message read, “Mr. Trevor, we found that Ms. Steele has been getting close to Ethan recently.”
His eyes narrowed. Is Serena behind this?
Serena had just finished washing up and was about to sleep when her phone rang from an unknown number.
Thinking it might be a client, she answered.
The moment she heard the voice, her expression cooled.
“It’s me. Come downstairs. If you don’t, I’m coming up,” he said, leaving no space for negotiation.
She clicked her tongue. “Trevor, do you even know what time it is?”
“When you pushed Amber’s scandal onto the trending list, did you check the clock then?”
She paused.
So that was it. He came for Amber.
“I’m giving you three minutes,” he added. “Unless you want your neighbors calling security in the middle of the night.”
Her eyes hardened. “Fine. Last time.”
If he pulled this again, she was calling emergency services.

Three minutes later, Trevor was leaning against his car when he finally saw her.

The last time he had seen Serena was when he brought her that dress. Only a week had passed, but it felt strangely distant.
She wore a silk nightgown with a loose cardigan over it. Her hair was pinned up carelessly, exposing the smooth line of her neck.
Trevor’s gaze lingered on her collarbone. His throat tightened. He looked calm, but he wasn’t.
Serena had rushed down to keep him from causing a scene upstairs. When she caught the heat in his stare, disgust flickered across her face. She pulled her cardigan tighter.
“Trevor, if you’ve got something to say, say it.”
The fog in his head cleared.
His eyes darkened. “Did you buy that trending topic?”
“So jealous you had to smear her?” He stepped closer. “If you were that jealous, you shouldn’t have broken off the engagement. You’d still be Mrs. Levine.”
Serena rolled her eyes. “Stop making things up.”
Her tone sharpened. “First, I didn’t buy the plagiarism trend. I don’t have the influence to keep something pinned all night.”
She let out a cold laugh. “And even if I did, don’t pretend you don’t have the power to remove it.”
His chest tightened.
He already suspected the truth. He just wanted to hear it from her.
A ridiculous hope stirred anyway–if she really went after Amber out of jealousy, wouldn’t that mean she still cared?
In the month since the breakup, Serena had been tearing down his pride bit by bit.
