“Absolutely ecstatic! Mr. Levine, is it possible that Mrs. Levine is expecting?”
Sebastian remained silent.

They had barely shared a few fleeting handholds, making it impossible for her to be expecting.
But there was no need to elucidate this to Charles. His composed voice floated softly, yet with clarity. “I’ll return at six. Charles, have Nerriah prepare extra. She favors fish.”
“Certainly, Mr. Levine. I’ll inform Mrs. Levine immediately!”
After ending the call, a subtle smile tugged at the corner of Sebastian’s mouth.
He replayed Charles‘ words about Serena missing him in his mind, savoring the memory, and thought that if she longed for him again, she could simply reach out herself next time.
A knock heralded Mason’s entrance. “Mr. Levine, the driver is ready downstairs.”
Sebastian inclined his head slightly. “Oh, tell Mr. Culver I have an urgent matter tonight. I won’t be attending.”
Mason hesitated.
Canceling mere minutes before departure was somewhat unscrupulous.
“It’s fine. Just let him know I’ll make amends. That explanation will suffice.”
Mason pursed his lips. “Understood. Mr. Levine, did you schedule another last–minute engagement?”
“No. My wife said she missed me. I need to return home and see her.”
Mason could only stare in silence.
Mr. Levine is utterly shameless. Who could possibly rival his shamelessness?
I’ve never seen a man so completely hopeless in love. Honestly, give me a break.
Serena had no inkling that Charles had painted her as the epitome of a devoted, affectionate spouse. Observing Nerriah bustling in the kitchen, she volunteered to handle the evening

Curious, Serena inquired about Sebastian’s usual culinary preferences.

Nerriah confessed uncertainty. Sebastian had never displayed strong inclinations–he sampled everything, leaving it impossible to discern a favorite.
Then she recalled that he once asked her how to enhance the flavor of fish. “Mr. Levine adores fish,” she said. “Why don’t you prepare one for him? I’ll handle the prep; you just steam it.”
“Fish?” Serena raised an eyebrow, surprised at the convergence of their tastes.
She smiled. “Perfect. You prep, and I’ll handle marinating and steaming.”
Shortly after six, Sebastian arrived at the villa punctually.
He set aside his jacket, slipped into the matching couple’s slippers with Serena, and upon stepping through the doorway, saw her at the kitchen counter, diligently at work.
A pale green apron hugged her slender frame as she bent over the cutting board, slicing vegetables with precision.
Warmth bloomed in Sebastian’s chest.
This was his wife, preparing a meal for him.
Charles had just finished arranging the tableware when he noticed Sebastian’s arrival.
“Mr. Levine, you’ve returned.”
Nerriah peeked from the kitchen. “Mr. Levine, tonight Mrs. Levine prepared dinner herself. Ten more minutes and it will be ready!”
Serena was completely absorbed in her work, oblivious to the intense gaze from the dining
room.
The steamed fish emerged, adorned with scallions and drizzled with sizzling hot oil.
The aroma enveloped them–flawless.
“Nerriah, could you bring this out?”
Serena stir–fried two additional side dishes and finally concluded her preparations.
Sebastian, impeccably dressed in his tailored suit, appeared behind her, the contrast with the
