Chapter 210 It’s Taut
“Mr. Beaumont. What a coincidence. Your firm hosting a team dinner tonight?”
Serena’s head snapped up. The moment her eyes met his, her chest tightened.
“Mr Levine?” Eugene stood at once, clearly caught off guard. “Not a team dinner, really. Just a casual get together with a few colleagues.
“Oh, yes.” Eugene turned to his group. “It’s your lucky night, people. This is Mr. Levine, CEO of Levine Group. Mr. Levine, these are a few of my law school classmates. All practicing attorneys.”
The second they heard “Levine Group,” every lawyer at the table straightened up. They had seen his photos before, but never this close. Never face–to–face.
“Mr. Levine, pleasure to meet you
“Mr. Levine, we’ve heard a lot about you”
Serena sat still, frozen Why was he here?
Sebastian’s eyes swept across the table. He looked casual, but his gaze felt like it cut straight through.
He raised a brow. “Nice to meet everyone. Mr Beaumont, is he a lawyer too?”
He gestured lazily. His finger landed right on Marvolo
Marvolo picked up the subtle edge in Sebastian’s tone. He didn’t blink
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Levine. I’m Marvolo Fischer. Just a local prosecutor.”
His words were polite, but his tone carried a quiet chill. Barely noticeable, but definitely there. He didn’t care much for trust fund heirs or corporate royalty.
He’d heard of Levine Group before. He figured this guy was that tabloid regular, Trevor Levine.
“Oh,” Sebastian said, voice flat.
“A prosecutor. Impressive. So young and already doing so well.
“You must be very capable.”
It sounded like praise, but the cold in his voice said otherwise.
Serena glanced up She accidentally locked eyes with him again. She could see her own reflection in his stare
Eugene, sharp as ever, picked up on the tension. He jumped in to smooth things over “He’s definitely doing well Mr. Levine are you dining here tonight too? Would you like to join us for a while?”

But her prayers went ignored.
“Of course. Sharing a meal with a table of professionals sounds like a great way to spend the evening.”
Serena’s stomach sank
She looked away and prayed again. Please don’t sit near me
Eugene glanced around, ready to offer the head seat. But Sebastian didn’t even hesitate.
He pointed casually. “No need. I’ll just take your seat. Would you mind switching?”
Serena’s heart dropped.
