Trevor pushed back his chair. “Grandpa, I’m full too. I still have work to handle. I’m heading to the company.”
Bryce watched Trevor’s retreating figure and gave a faint snort. “Nathan, Trevor is getting harder and harder for you to keep in line, isn’t he? Send him abroad with Amber more often. He was so insistent on marrying her, yet now their feelings seem to be cooling.”
Deep down, Bryce had already consented to Amber going abroad. In his view, once Trevor had a child of his own, those wandering thoughts would naturally quiet.
Bryce was no longer young. What he wanted most was simple–a peaceful home and a thriving family.
Sebastian put an arm around Serena’s waist and led her into the car. Just as the driver started the engine, Trevor’s vehicle pulled up next to them at the gate.
Trevor rolled down his window and looked directly at the pair inside.
Sebastian’s eyes turned cold.
“Let’s go,” he instructed Patrick.
“Yes, Mr. Levine.”
Serena gave his chest a light, kitten–like pat. “Alright, don’t be upset.”
Sebastian looked at her slightly swollen lips and replied, “I’m not upset.”
Serena let out a helpless laugh. Not upset? The jealousy is written all over you, and you still won’t admit it.
“Next time, let’s try visiting when he’s not home. The house staff hardly dares to breathe whenever you get upset.” She paused briefly before adding softly, “And please be kinder to your dad. He’s aging, and you shouldn’t cause him unnecessary worry.”
Sebastian’s lips subtly curved. “He’ll be fine. His yearly checkups are excellent.”
Then he tilted his head down, his lips near her ear, warm breath softly caressing her sensitive
skin.

Serena’s face flushed instantly.
“Promise me, and I won’t be upset,” he whispered. “You will, won’t you… honey?”

Serena puffed her cheeks and gazed out the window, resisting the rogue beside her. She thought, Maybe I should consider using some traditional medicine to calm him. Things are getting out of hand.
Lucinda dragged Serena out for a shopping trip.
She had become a bride–to–be overnight and was still trying to process it fully.
“Rena, let’s go look at wedding dresses together.”
This was her first time as a bride, so she was determined not to cut any corners. She wanted to be the most beautiful person in the room.
Serena smiled. “Want me to ask Sebastian about the atelier where he had mine custom–made? I thought their designs were beautiful.”
Lucinda shook her head. “Forget it. Uncle Sebastian booked yours months in advance. You think I didn’t already check?”
She knew Julian couldn’t have prepared her gown so early.
Serena’s gaze fell on a nearby professional women’s wear boutique. “Lucinda, let’s go in there.”
Lucinda blinked. “Huh? Rena, changing up your style?”
The question almost left her lips. That looks a little too formal for her. She usually sticks to all black,
even in court.
Serena had no words to explain. It was entirely Sebastian’s fault because he insisted on seeing her in uniform.
Ever since the bunny outfit incident, he had developed a particular fondness for it and kept dreaming up increasingly wild ideas.
When Lucinda saw Serena–her cheeks flushing–grabbing a white, cropped blouse and a short black skirt–she instantly understood.
Serena didn’t try them on at all. She picked the smallest size and went directly to the counter.
