Two years later, Sebastian would already be thirty-six.
When they had dinner at the Levine Residence last week, Bryce had hinted several times that they should start having children.
Serena hesitated, going back and forth in her mind. Before she realized it, it was already 10
p.m.
Sebastian had just finished a social dinner that evening. Serena caught the strong smell of alcohol on him. She pinched her nose and pushed him away slightly. “You’ve been drinking. How much did you have?”
Sebastian chuckled softly. “Yeah, I drank a bit too much today. It couldn’t be helped. In the future, I’ll pass these kinds of social dinners to my colleagues and drink less.”
His face was slightly flushed, and his thin lips looked especially defined.
“If I quit drinking, how about we have a baby next year?” he asked.
He wanted a child-one with the person he loved most.
Ideally, he wanted a daughter who looked like her mother. He would pamper his daughter like a princess.
He’d have two princesses to spoil silly, both for him to cherish.
If it were a son, that would be fine too. He might be a little stricter with him, though. They could have another daughter later, and the older brother would protect his little sister and stand up for her.
Even if he were gone one day, his daughter would never be bullied.
Just imagining a future with both a son and a daughter made Sebastian feel full of warmth inside. His slightly drunken eyes looked especially gentle.

Did he want a baby already?
Sebastian reached out and lightly pinched her cheek. “It’s okay. Don’t be scared. If you don’t want a baby this year, we can have one next year. Even the end of next year is fine.”
He was afraid he might have frightened her.
Serena forced a small smile. “Okay, I’ll think about it. Babe, give me some time to think.”
Sebastian closed his eyes and smiled softly. He would give her the time she needed.
If she got pregnant at the beginning of next year, the baby would be born by the end of the
year.
Several times, Serena wanted to bring it up with Sebastian, but each time the words reached her lips, she swallowed them back down.
That Saturday, Sebastian made a rare suggestion. “Do you want to take a short trip somewhere nearby this weekend? Just the two of us.”
Serena shook her head. “I have to go to the office to work overtime today. I’ll probably finish in the afternoon. How about tomorrow? Let’s go watch a movie.”
The last time they went to the movies, Sebastian had seemed to enjoy it. Since Serena felt a little guilty, she instinctively wanted to make it up to him.
Sebastian curled his lips into a smile. “Sure. What movie?”
As he leaned in closer, Serena pushed him away. “You pick. Whatever you want to watch.”
His eyes darkened slightly. “Really? Whatever I say?”
“Mm. Your choice.”
After Serena left the house, Sebastian sat down at his computer to browse for films.
In the end, he remembered that Connor owned a chain of movie theaters. So early on Saturday morning, Connor received a call from him.
