Julian added, “You can include egg yolks, a bit of ham and chicken, and some peanuts in Serena’s daily meals. Spinach and broccoli are fine as well. Sebastian, just check the details online yourself.”
Sebastian frowned at the list–it seemed excessive.
“Well, I want a full meal plan ready tomorrow.”
Julian raised an eyebrow. Is he serious? Does he really expect me to do that? I’ve got my own wife to take care of!
Sebastian didn’t intend to take advantage of him for free. He transferred five million dollars as soon as he could. “This is a cash gift for the baby. Hold onto it for her for now.”
Julian hesitated, then muttered reluctantly, “Fine.”
In the car, Serena closed her eyes, drowsiness pulling at her.
After all the back–and–forth, she needed to fight off jet lag and get some proper rest.
Sebastian draped an arm around her. “Honey, Dad just talked to me about Trevor and Amber. Since they’ve had the baby, it’s better to let him see the child–it might bring a little luck to ours.”
Bryce had also promised that he’d prevent Trevor and Amber from causing any more trouble for Serena.
Hearing his father’s assurance, Sebastian finally relaxed. “Dad, if Trevor messes things up again, we’re cutting all family ties. He can forget any company involvement, and I won’t come back for dinner anymore.”
He dropped the ultimatum and left the room.
Bryce sighed. What a mess.
Even at his age, he still had to get involved in all these young people’s troubles.
Serena barely cared about their decisions. “Honey, handle it however you think is best. I’ll follow your lead. I’m exhausted. I just want to sleep.”
Sebastian’s gaze darkened. “Alright. Get some rest for now. We still have a little way to go on the road.”

He decided to let her rest now so he could have some time with her later at home.
When they arrived, Sebastian carried her inside.

He gently removed her coat, and for the first time, Serena collapsed onto the bed without showering.
He tucked her in, organized their luggage, and then went to the bathroom–and took out the trash while he was at it.
Charles, back on duty after a long break and unusually energetic even at midnight, called out, “Mr. Levine, why are you handling the trash yourself? Let me take care of it.”
Sebastian shook his head while lifting the bag. “No need. If nothing urgent is happening, everyone else should rest. Don’t come upstairs unless it’s necessary.”
Normally, staff stayed on the first floor, but tonight, the only one on duty was Charles; the rest wouldn’t arrive until tomorrow.
Charles nodded repeatedly. “Understood, Mr. Levine. I’ll head back to my room.”
Once everything was in order, Sebastian returned to the bedroom and locked the door behind him.
A faint smile touched his lips. “Honey, time to wake up and shower.”
“Not showering. You’re disgusting!” he teased deliberately.
Serena swatted at him with her pale little hand, half–blindly. “Stop yelling! You stink! Your whole family stinks!”
“Alright, alright! I stink, I’ll help you wash. Is that okay?”
His Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice warm and husky. She didn’t protest, which he took as
consent.
Scooping her up, he murmured softly, “A rose–scented bath for you, and then I’ll massage your shoulders. You’ll love it.”
Serena’s eyes fluttered shut, too tired to resist. She didn’t think about anything–she was completely drained.
During her six months abroad, whenever she had classes, Sebastian had respected her space.

At most, when he was on edge, he would hug her tightly and kiss her deeply.
Even on breaks, she was buried in case studies, assignments, or papers.
He could only steal small moments when possible–sometimes once a week, sometimes not even once a month.
He feared being too clingy and hated seeing her exhausted, barely keeping up, so even with him nearby all those months, he felt like a starved stray, longing but patient.
In the bathroom, steam curled lazily, carrying a soft, sweet fragrance that filled the room.
