Sébastian had to put in extra hours at work and left home around ten in the morning.
Before he left, he scribbled a quick note for her.
Serena woke up with a stiff back and an aching waist. No matter how much progress she’d made, she still couldn’t match Sebastian’s complete lack of self–control.
She had just finished freshening up and was eating at the table when her phone rang.
“Rena, where are you?”
Serena froze, heart tightening. “I’m at home. Why? Did something happen?”
Lucinda’s expression was grim. “Kyana jumped from a building.”
The news of Kyana ending her life sent shockwaves everywhere.
Not long ago, online hatred had been relentless. Now, after her death, the chaos went eerily silent.
Marcus, enraged, spoke out immediately, demanding severe consequences for anyone who had tormented her online.
Soon, a letter, presumed to be Kyana’s final note, began circulating quietly on the internet.
“Life feels meaningless. I might as well end it. Dad is gone, Mom’s behind bars, so why should I stay alive? Especially when my sister is thriving. I feel like a rat everyone wants to beat.
“I don’t understand why you’re cursing me. I can’t make sense of it. I can’t sleep. Since I can’t figure it out, I’ll stop trying. Mom, I can’t hold on until the day you’re free. I’ll go first. Your daughter, Kyana.”
The note directly implicated the online bullies and mentioned one other key person- Serena.
Almost immediately after ending the call with Lucinda, Sebastian phoned her.
“Have you seen the news?” he asked, voice tight.
Serena nodded. “Yes. Don’t worry. Are they coming for me?”

Sebastian didn’t answer. “Stay calm. Turn off your phone and give me ten minutes. I’ll have everything under control by then.”
Obediently, Serena locked her screen.
She sank back onto the couch, her face unreadable.
Why would someone like Kyana take her own life?
The thought gnawed at her. Without hesitation, she went to the garage, got into her car, and drove back to Steele Residence.
Outside the villa, the sidewalk was lined with white flowers and flickering candles.
“You’re Kyana’s sister, right? You drove her to this! Are you happy now?”
A water bottle smashed against her car.
The butler rushed to open the gate, and Serena drove straight in.
“Ms. Steele, are you hurt?”
Serena shook her head and went straight to the second floor. Many of Kyana’s belongings still hadn’t been cleared out and were stacked in the storage room.
She pulled out Kyana’s notebook and placed it beside the letter circulating online. To the naked eye, they were identical.
Could it really be written by Kyana?
As expected, Serena’s social media had become a battlefield.
