Chapter 384 The Truth
Chapter 384 The Truth
I can’t believe this woman, a mother, would actually abandon her own child.
Tony found a spot, cleaned Cubbie up, gave him some formula, and then called Serena.

Serena hadn’t said a word the entire time. As Sebastian had warned, even if she stayed silent, the blame was already pinned on her. If she spoke up, there was no telling how Deanna would react–probably like wild dog snapping at her, refusing to let go.
Just as Deanna was about to lose it completely, Serena’s phone rang. “Hello?”
“Ms. Steele, it’s Tony. I just found out my one–night stand dumped my kid in a trash can. Do I call the police right away?”
She was speechless.
What a coincidence.
“Yeah, maybe you should call them. Let them handle it. While you’re at it, give them your partner’s name -they’ll take care of it.”
Sebastian lowered his gaze. “Whose call is this?”
Serena shrugged. “The client I mentioned to you yesterday.”
He nodded in understanding. “Alright, don’t worry about it.”
He turned back to Deanna. “Deanna, I respect Nathan, which is why I treat you like family. But if you can’t respect my wife, I won’t be holding back next time. You still have a chance to apologize now. If you later realize you messed up and want to smooth things over, it won’t be that easy.”
It was a very clear warning.
Nathan actually believed him about seventy percent. “How can you say that as a senior? No matter what, Serena didn’t kidnap anyone. Apologize.”
Deanna was choked up, too frustrated to speak. Amber’s being unfairly blamed, and Cubbie isn’t even my grandson. And now they want me to apologize? Does this world have any justice left?
“I’m not apologizing. Not in a million years,” she said.
Serena tugged at Sebastian. “Let her not apologize if she doesn’t want to.”
Whatever. She’s going to face reality soon enough. Why stress over an apology that comes from an unwilling heart?
Fifteen minutes after Serena finished speaking, the cop got a call.
Mr. Nathan, Madam Cooper, your grandson… he’s been found,” the cop said.

Deanna rushed forward, her expression lighting up with excitement. “Where? Where is my grandson?”
“He was found in a trash bin, but the person who found him said it was his mother who had left him
there…”
“That can’t be true.” She kept shaking her head.
Trevor caught the gist of it and seemed to understand. “Let’s go. We’ll head to the station together.”
Sebastian went home with Serena.
