Chapter 439 I Love You Too
Nathan added. “We have done everything we possibly could.”
After ending the call, Trevor remained frozen in his chair, lost in thought for a long time. Memories of Amber were slipping from his mind, her face becoming increasingly hazy.
Yet every glance and every smile Serena had given him seemed to etch itself deep into his soul. “I’m glad you’re safe. That’s all that matters,” he murmured quietly.
A pity no one was there to hear such a soft, private confession.

Yvonne was escorted out and informed that a visitor had arrived.
She longed desperately for it to be her daughter, but she knew it was impossible.
Amber’s eyes narrowed as she considered the situation, wondering who would possibly come to see Yvonne, since even her own daughter was no longer alive.
Thirty minutes later, Yvonne returned.
“Yvonne, how was it? Who came by?” Amber asked.
Yvonne shook her head slowly. “My older brother.”
Amber’s mind raced. She asked, “What did he say? Did he talk about Kyana?”
Given that the Quinn family wasn’t truly innocent, they wouldn’t have exposed themselves so easily.
After all, Kyana’s death had been their doing.
“He didn’t talk much,” Yvonne said, a fleeting expression passing over her face, shadows dancing across it.
Adam came to the hospital to check on Serena, guilt written across his face.
He was terrified that Sebastian might pull him into the mess.
“Serena, are you alright? I’m so sorry. We didn’t scrutinize the new hire properly, and you suffered because
of that.”
Adam had only accepted the referral based on a friend’s recommendation and could never have foreseen this disaster.
Serena offered a faint smile. “It’s fine, Mr. Rowe. This isn’t your fault.”

But with Sebastian sitting nearby, his expression sharp and unyielding, Adam barely dared to breathe. Serena noticed the way Adam kept stealing glances at Sebastian and immediately understood.
She smiled softly at Adam and said, “Here, have some fruit.”
Sebastian grunted low, rose, and broke a piece of banana for him.
Adam accepted it, a mix of nervousness and gratitude on his face. “Thanks, Mr. Levine, but I can manage it myself.”
After Adam left, Sebastian snorted quietly.
Serena chuckled. “Don’t get so petty.”
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Petty? He’s the one hiring people who turn out like that. He should shoulder a lot of the blame.”
Thankfully, he had sensed something was off about the assistant and had Serena transfer them before things worsened.
“Alright, no more anger.”
Serena leaned into him, her cheek resting against his hand. Rarely showing such softness, she murmured, “Honey, I knew you’d come for me. Thank you. I’ll be extra careful from now on and protect our babies.”
Sebastian gently traced her lips with his thumb. “Don’t say that. You matter more than them.”
Serena pressed close to his ear. “Honey, I love you. More than I ever imagined I could.
“I was terrified of losing you. Terrified of losing our babies. I was so scared I’d never see you again.”
It was the first time Sebastian heard her voice say “I love you,” and a wave of joy washed over him.
“Say it again, honey,” he urged, cupping her face in both hands, needing to see her fully.
Blushing, Serena replied, “Okay. I love you, Sebastian. Deeply.”
He kissed her softly, every motion careful and tender.
“I love you too. I love you very, very
much.”
A week later, when Serena learned Amber had died in prison, she was momentarily speechless.
