“Serena, come with me to the Levine Group this afternoon.”

Serena was startled. “Boss, how do you move without making a sound?”

“I didn’t,” Eugene replied. “You were glued to your phone.”

He leaned over and glanced at her screen. “You’ve got an incoming call.”

Serena jerked her head up. On the display was a voice call request from SL.

Eugene glanced between Serena and the phone. “Who’s SL? Why aren’t you answering?”

Panicking, Serena ended the call immediately.

“Uh… nobody important. Probably an insurance scam. They call nonstop. Super annoying.”

Eugene looked unconvinced. Insurance callers usually used real profile photos. That pitch–dark avatar didn’t look right at all.

Still, he didn’t linger on it. “Alright. Get your things and come with me to the Levine Group. Today has to go smoothly.”

“Understood!” Serena replied.

She checked her phone again. On the other end, a huge question mark had appeared.

Serena wanted to disappear on the spot. She hadn’t meant to hang up. She just couldn’t take Sebastian’s call in front of her boss.

On the other end, Sebastian studied his phone thoughtfully, then let out a quiet, amused breath.

The desk phone rang. He set his mobile aside and answered the landline. “Hello.”

Hearing Sebastian’s calm voice, Daniel immediately felt a chill. “Mr. Levine, the Beaumont Legal team will be here shortly to sign the agreement. Would you… like to attend personally?”

Sebastian’s lips curved slightly. “I’ll come.”

There was no reason to avoid it. They were bound to meet sooner or later.

After the call ended, Daniel stared at the phone, puzzled.

Such a small contract, yet Sebastian wanted to show up himself. That alone said how much importance he placed on Beaumont Legal.

A law firm, even a strong one, shouldn’t warrant that level of attention.

Unless someone he couldn’t stop thinking about worked there.

Daniel suddenly felt like he’d stumbled onto a secret too big to ignore,
