Chapter 454 I’ll Always Choose You
“I’ll take you home.”
“No. I want to find him. I haven’t confessed to him yet.”
“Confess. Why the hesitation?” Julian suggested, feeling his chest tighten. She has a crush. I’m pissed that I hesitated, but I’m even more annoyed that Lucinda is following in my footsteps.
It was only a confession.
At the very worst?
Lucinda would be rejected, but she could move on.
She shook her head as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I just can’t. He’s my brother now.”
A sharp ache pierced Julian’s chest. He gently pulled her into his arms.
“Alright, don’t cry. How about liking someone else?
“Or… you could like me. I won’t make you cry.”
The next morning, when Lucinda woke up, she realized Julian had sent her home again.
“Does your head still hurt?” he asked.
“Nope. Thank you, Julian.”
Julian didn’t answer, but only scoffed. Looks like she blacked out again.
She got drunk again at the concert, so he didn’t want to be a gentleman.
At the sight of the drunk girl, his gaze softened and lingered on her. “I won’t say it a third time, Lucinda.”
Lucinda only realized the situation they were in when their daughter turned three.
“Had I known back then,” she explained, “I wouldn’t have refused Grandpa when he suggested
that we settle down.
“We ended up back where we started–and I even married you.”

“I mean…” Julian chuckled. “You didn’t have feelings for me in that way.”
“As if you liked me.” She pouted.
He rolled over and pulled her into his arms.
Lowering his head, he kissed her on the lips. “I did. I’ve only ever liked you.”
“Trevor, does Lucinda not like me?”
When she arrived at the Levine family. Amber was a young child–emotionally sensitive an sick all the time.
At first, Trevor didn’t like little girls.
Even though he had Lucinda as a cousin, he wasn’t especially close to her. Yet, when he saw little Amber, he couldn’t help feeling sorry for her.
“She does like you,” he cajoled. “I still like you even if she doesn’t, okay?”
Amber blinked up at him with pitiful eyes.
Her voice was soft and sweet.
“Okay. Trevor, I like you the most.”
From that day on, he treated her even better than a real sister.
Everyone in their circle knew he was completely obsessed with her.
“Amber, the Levines merely adopted you. Why are you so proud?”
“I’m not,” Amber replied softly, trying to defend herself.
Trevor walked over from behind her and pulled her behind him. “Amber isn’t just my adopted sister, but the treasure of our family. Those who bully her are my enemies.”
After that, no one dared gossip about her anymore.
