Serena lifted her arm in its sling and stared at him coldly. Do I look like I can still get married in my condition?”
Donald felt dizzy as he couldn’t handle so much bad news coming at him at once.
“What happened to your arm? Don’t you know how important tomorrow is? How could you be so careless!”
He glanced at her shoulder in a cast with obvious disgust. “Go have the cast removed right this instant. No one will notice anything amiss as long as you don’t lift your arm tomorrow. Just breathe through the pain. You can put the cast back on after the wedding!”
Although she’d expected this, his heartless words still bore through her heart with vengeance.
The ice in her veins burrowed into those bloody wounds.
She heard herself say faintly, “Do you really want an alliance with the Levine family that badly?”
“Yes!” Donald answered without hesitation. “I need the Levine family’s money, their support, and their resources”
He made no attempt to hide his ambition from Serena.
It would be ideal if she walked down the aisle willingly.
Still, he would have 10 bodyguards tie her up and drag her to the venue tomorrow if she said.
Serena snorted coldly. “Fine. Let me make this clear. This is you begging me to help you.”
A flicker of displeasure flashed in Donald’s eyes when he heard the word “begging” coming out of her mouth. Nevertheless, he swallowed his displeasure and replied, “Fine. Yes, I’m begging you.”
“You want me to show up tomorrow? That’s fine. I can do that. We’ll meet at the hall. You don’t need to worry about anything else.”
Donald considered his options before begrudgingly saying, “Alright. Then, I’ll inform the Levine family that you don’t want a grand entrance.”
The entrance didn’t matter. After all, the wedding banquet was what really mattered.

Chapter 67 Th
Sebastian only found out that they’d already left by the time he got to the hospital.

He briefly spoke with the doctor and glanced at the sickly woman lying in the hospital bed through the glass window.
He could still remember seeing her in good health a few days ago. Now, she looked devoid of life with so many tubes inserted all over her.
Sebastian stood outside the ward and called Lucinda.
“Has anyone gone to the Levine residence in the past couple of days?”
“No, Uncle Sebastian. Is something the matter?”
“Alright. I understand.”
Sebastian hung up without another word as he lowered his gaze in thought.
Was Serena really still going to marry Trevor?
He had heard she was injured in a car accident.
Sebastian tugged at his tie in irritation. He desperately wanted to rush to her apartment and ask her what she was up to.
Sadly, he knew he didn’t have that right.
As long as her engagement with Trevor was still on, he would only ever be “Uncle Sebastian” to her.
When Donald returned home, Yvonne asked with concern, “Is Judith alright?”
Donald shot her a hard glare. “Why didn’t you go to the hospital?”
“I wanted to, but Rena wouldn’t let me. You have no idea how stubborn she is. I was afraid she’d start smashing things in the house if I misspoke in front of her!”
Donald harrumphed. “Mom had a stroke. Hire a caregiver for her tomorrow. You’d better get her a good one.”
A stroke?
Yvonne’s heart lurched.
