Lucinda finally got a text from Serena around 10 p.m. that night, so she called her and demanded, “Rena, where have you been?”
“Lucy, can you help me with something tomorrow?”
On the day of the wedding, Trevor was dressed in a black suit, and his hair was neatly styled. He looked nonchalant. However, one would notice a faint hint of excitement if they cared to take a closer look.
After all, a wedding was a happy occasion.
The only thing that dissatisfied him slightly was that Serena had said no to a grand entrance.
Amber was wearing a pure white dress paired with light makeup. She gazed at the man in the mirror, momentarily lost in thought.
“Trevor, you look really handsome today.”
Trevor raised a brow as he turned to look at her. So, I’m handsome to you, huh?”
Amber sidled closer to him as she looked up at him bashfully. “Trevor, I’m wearing white today, and you’re wearing black. We match really well as siblings, don’t we?”
Her voice was soft. The sharp lines of Trevor’s face immediately softened upon hearing her words.
“Of course, you silly goose. Don’t overthink things. I’ll still spoil you rotten even after I’m married.”
Sweet words were the slowest kind of poison.
Amber had heard him say many sweet nothings to her before. Yet, it still didn’t change the fact that he was marrying another woman.

At the time, Amber had thought that Serena was different from those ambitious women.
Now, it seemed that she wasn’t all that special.
Amber squashed the jealousy circling her heart and asked, “Trevor, what time are we leaving? Can I join you in your car?”
Trevor’s car was usually reserved for the bride and groom as they led the groomsmen and maids of honor to the venue.
Amber’s eyes glistened as she looked at him.
Trevor immediately caved. His voice turned hoarse as he answered softly, “Alright. We’ll ride together to the hall.”
Nathan wanted to voice his protest when he saw Trevor and Amber getting into the same car.
His wife, Deanna, stopped him. “It’s fine. Bridesmaids can ride in that car too. Besides, Amber is his sister. It doesn’t matter.”
Nathan could only let the matter slide upon hearing her words,
Lucinda volunteered to ride in the same car as Bryce. She had promised Serena that she would stay by his side the entire time.
She was even clutching some heart medication just in case. She planned to stuff the drug into his mouth if he showed signs of keeling over.
Lucinda had asked Serena what her plan was last night.
After all, she knew just how determined Serena was to call off the engagement.
Sadly, Serena had kept it tightly under wraps. She wouldn’t even give her a hint!
Lucinda puffed her cheeks in annoyance. She was definitely going to give Serena a detailed
