Chapter 70 Vindictive Satisfaction

“I’m a generous person,” Serena said. “Since we already had one round, I’ll give you a wedding proposal that’s big and unforgettable!”

Trevor’s stomach sank. “Serena, what exactly are you trying to do?”

Before he could finish, all the lights in the banquet hall went out. The curtain behind the main stage suddenly lit up.

“Little one, my sweetie Amber, today’s your sixteenth birthday. Happy birthday. I’ll always be here for you.”

On the big screen, the camera focused on Amber’s innocent, youthful look. She looked shyly at the candles in front of her, closed her eyes tightly, and made a wish in silence. It took her a full minute before she finally blew out the candles.

Trevor’s voice came again. “Sweetie Amber, tell me what you wished for.”

“Trevor, wishes don’t work if I say them out loud”

A loud gasp went through the room. Everyone was stunned.

“Wait, isn’t Amber the Levines‘ adopted daughter? And now… this adopted daughter somehow turned into her being a kid bride?”

Nathan’s eyes were practically shooting fire. He yelled at the people around him, “What are you standing there for? Go shut that video down now!”
