Chapter 80 Stop Testing Me
Everyone in the Steele family understood just how much Judith had meant to Serena.
“Fine. Once your mom is laid to rest, we need to act quickly,” Yvonne said.
Neither of them noticed the slim figure hidden in the shadows, letting out a quiet, mocking chuckle.

“Kyana, your sister is terrifying. Didn’t your grandma spoil her more than anyone else? How is it possible she hasn’t shed a single tear?”
Kyana dabbed at her eyes, putting on a show. “Who knows? Maybe Serena really does have a heart of stone. I can’t even compare to her. When I heard about Grandma passing away, I cried until my eyes swelled.”
“You’re far too soft, Kyana. Some people are just cold to the bone.”
Their voices weren’t loud, but every word cut straight through to Serena.
She shot Kyana a flat, piercing look. “Come with me.”
Kyana flinched under her sister’s icy stare. “What… what do you want?”
Serena let out a short, sharp laugh. “Are you afraid of me?”
“I’m not!” Kyana protested, though she followed obediently, stubborn as ever, to the back.
Suddenly, a glint of steel caught her eye. At some point, Serena had produced a dagger.
One arm snapped around Kyana’s throat while the other pressed the cold blade against her cheek, dragging it slowly. Serena’s eyes were sharp, lethal, unlike anything Kyana had ever seen.
Kyana’s chin was forced upward. She froze, teeth chattering. “You… Serena, you’re insane!”
This time, it wasn’t a question.
Her face was drained of color. If the blade nicked her cheek, it would be permanently scarred.
“Are you scared?” Serena’s voice was icy. “Then stop testing me. I don’t want to hear nonsense like that again. If I catch you stirring trouble in Grandma’s mourning hall…”
The dagger hovered at Kyana’s throat, and Serena’s words cut even colder. “Next time, it won’t just be a warning.”
Then, the blade slid away, and Serena turned on her heel, walking off without a glance. Kyana collapsed to the floor, trembling violently.
At that moment, Kyana believed Serena had truly snapped.
That cold glint in her eyes–she could have killed her if she wanted to.
Tears streaming, Kyana ran to her mom.
