Julian was on clinic duty today. He was finally about to take a break when someone shoved the door open. It hit the wall with a bang.

For hell’s sake, who now? He groaned.

He opened his eyes impatiently and took in the sight. “You again, Sebastian!”

Then, he noticed a person in his friend’s arms. He recognized her immediately. Serena of the Steele family.

“Cut the crap. She’s been drugged. Get a female doctor, now!”

Julian rolled his eyes, thinking Sebastian was making a scene. “You can volunteer to save her yourself. You don’t have to bring her here.”

Sebastian narrowed his eyes as a warning. “I’m not taking advantage of her!”

He wouldn’t mind exchanging banter with his friends, but one would think twice before crossing him.

Julian scratched his cheek. “Relax. I was kidding.”

“Well, I don’t find your jokes funny.”

Knowing he shouldn’t have made a distasteful joke, Julian rushed to grab a female ER doctor

to treat Serena.

The female doctor arrived to find Serena already struggling to keep herself awake. “It’s strong stuff. She bit her tongue to not give in to temptation.”

The doctor examined Serena. “She also pinched her thighs. They’re bruising.”

Behind the curtain, Sebastian’s face twisted in fury, his jaw tightened.

Feeling his cold fury, Julian stepped away to keep a distance from him. Yeah, not the time to poke the bear.

“I’ll get her started on fluids. Only her family can speak on her behalf. Is that you?”

Before Julian could tell her to skip the part and treat Serena first, Sebastian nodded and said, “Yes, I’m her family. Thank you, doctor.”

Julian’s mouth hung agape in shock. Dude.

“Aunt Yvonne, she’s gone!”

Yvonne hissed. “What? Impossible! How did she get away?”

“I found her in the restroom, but someone rushed me from behind and kicked me over. I was immobile for a while, and when I came to, they were gone!”

Someone rescued her!

“Was it a man? Did you see his face?” she pressed.

Her nephew shook his head. “No. I told you I was caught off guard.”

He’s useless, she thought.

“Fine. You can go now. I’ll handle this.”

Kyana was worried after seeing her grim look. The daughter asked, “Mom, what happened? Did Serena get away?”

Yvonne simply hummed. We missed the chance! There won’t be a similar opportunity next time!

One hour later, Serena regained consciousness.

Her whole body felt weak. She rubbed her eyes..

A pair of dark eyes met her.

“Sebastian?”

Sebastian nodded to acknowledge her. “It’s me.”

Then, it all came back. She remembered she was drugged by Yvonne, and he rescued her from the restroom.

“Thank you.” She expressed her gratitude to him.
