Julian called Hester several times, but she didn't answer a single one. Later, Neil arrived with Gael in tow to find Hester.
Ever since that day at the hospital when Neil had stubbornly refused to tell the truth, Hester had lost all patience for him, greeting him with nothing but a cold shoulder.
Ironically, Gael had now become the designated messenger between Julian and Hester.
Hester made Neil wait outside the front door, only allowing Gael inside.
Gael looked incredibly smug, sticking her tongue out at Neil before swaggering into the house.
"Lena, please take Caden outside to play."
"Right away!" Lena was perceptive. She immediately coaxed Caden Weston and led him out to the yard.
With Caden out of the way, Hester and Gael sat down on the sofa.
Gael relayed Julian's message to Hester.
Seraphina Simpson had returned to the country under the official title of Adrian Weston's widow. Julian planned to formally reintroduce Seraphina to Caden as his biological mother. Afterward, he wanted to pick a special date to bring the two of them back to the Weston family estate, officially integrating them into the family.
Hester wasn't surprised by this at all.
She looked at Gael with a calm expression. "Julian is Adrian's younger brother. It makes complete sense for him to take care of his brother's widow and child. So, when exactly is he planning to take Caden back?"
Hearing this, Gael let out a helpless sigh. "The problem is that Caden hasn't gotten his memory back yet. Julian's idea is to set up a time for him, Seraphina, and you to meet first. He wants you all to discuss the best way to explain the situation to Caden without traumatizing him."
"I completely agree!"
Gael scoffed coldly. "That Seraphina is currently staying at a hotel. Yesterday, Neil asked me to drop off some daily essentials for her. When I got there, she took the items, thanked me, and then immediately started fishing for information about how close you and Caden are. She might have an innocent, harmless face, but my gut tells me she's not as simple as she pretends to be."
Hester pursed her lips and remained silent.
She didn't know Seraphina and felt no need to interact with her. She had zero interest in Seraphina's affairs.
Her only concern right now was when they were going to come and collect Caden.
Even though she had bonded well with Caden over the past few days, his real mother was back. Continuing to play house and taking care of him just didn't feel appropriate anymore.
