Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 91

A cold sweat broke out across Hester’s forehead, the color draining completely from her face.

Five years. It had been five years, yet Melody’s words dragged those bloody, agonizing memories right back to the surface!

Hester’s clenched fists began to tremble. Her chest heaved with rapid, shallow breaths.

Melody watched her, her gaze as toxic as poison—spiteful and triumphant. She knew her words had successfully triggered Hester’s most painful trauma.

So what if Hester was capable and powerful now? Didn't she still fail to protect her own children?

Melody let out a cold scoff. She turned around, hiding the malice in her eyes, and walked toward the counter with slow, elegant steps. "Hi, is my prescription ready?"

"All set." The young receptionist handed over the bag of medication prepared by the pharmacist. "The instructions for your supplements are on the label, along with our number. If you have any questions once you get home, feel free to give us a call."

Melody took the bag, thanked her, and turned to leave.

In Hester's vision, Melody's retreating back began to warp and distort. A violent ringing pierced her ears, mixing with the phantom sounds of Melody's wicked laughter and the brutal, mocking voices of her kidnappers.

Tears spilled from Hester’s eyes. She took a step, then another, walking straight toward Melody.

"Melody Monroe, you deserve to die!"

Hester screamed, launching herself at Melody with reckless abandon!

Melody had just stopped next to the Maybach. She turned, saw Hester lunging at her, and stumbled backward in mock terror. "Ah! Julian, help!"

The door of the Maybach swung open. Julian stepped out in a flash, shielding Melody behind him and grabbing Hester’s arm.

"Hester, calm down!"
