Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 92

Julian caught Hester’s limp body as she collapsed, scooping her up into his arms.

...

By the time Jasper rushed out of the consultation room with Gigi, drawn by the commotion, Hester was already gone.

He immediately went to the front desk. "What just happened here? Where did she go?"

The receptionist looked torn. "Mr. Weston told me not to say anything."

Jasper’s face darkened, instantly realizing something was very wrong. He had no ties to Julian, and when he tried calling Hester, it went straight to voicemail.

Left with no other option, he called Sabrina, gave her a quick rundown of the situation, and asked her to find out what was going on with Hester.

Thirty minutes later, Sabrina called him back.

"Jasper, I found her. She's totally fine, don't worry."

Hearing Sabrina's overly bright tone, Jasper's instincts flared. Something felt incredibly off.

"Sabrina, give it to me straight. What exactly is going on with her? She isn't answering her calls, and she hasn't read my texts."

Sabrina swallowed hard, her eyes darting to the man standing directly in front of her. Julian looked like the actual grim reaper. The phone was on speaker—per his explicit, terrifying command.

Sabrina forced a light, breezy laugh. "Oh, her phone just died! We're actually both at Stellamare Villa right now. She's keeping Bella company. Bella's going in for surgery tomorrow, and she's feeling pretty anxious, so the whole family is here to support her."

Jasper still felt uneasy, but knowing Sabrina was there offered some reassurance. It couldn't be a dire emergency.

"As long as she’s okay. I just wanted to make sure she was safe."

"Relax! Would I ever joke about Hester’s safety?"

Even now, she couldn't believe Julian would have an affair. She especially couldn't believe he would betray Hester for a woman like Melody!

But if he wasn't cheating, why had he hidden Melody away at Silverstream Villa? And lately, Julian had been openly bringing Melody to high-profile galas and banquets. There was even a ridiculous rumor circulating in their social circles that 'Melody Monroe is about to replace Hester Carrington as the new Mrs. Weston'!

Piece by piece, it was practically hard evidence of his infidelity!

Unable to make sense of it, Sabrina shook her head and turned to go downstairs.

On the first floor, Lena was just about to head upstairs with a newly arrived Declan Reed. Seeing Sabrina coming down, she offered a polite greeting. "Ms. Quinn."

Sabrina paused on the bottom step. Her wide eyes locked onto Declan, who was dressed in a sharp suit but carrying a medical bag. "Declan? When did you get back in the country?"

"I’ve returned to take over the family empire," Declan said, walking up and heavily patting the top of Sabrina’s head. "We'll catch up later. I need to go upstairs and change Mr. Weston’s bandages."

Change his bandages?! Smelling gossip, Sabrina immediately followed close behind Declan, lowering her voice. "Why does he need a bandage change? Is Mr. Weston hurt?"
