Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 92

Julian caught Hester’s limp body as she collapsed, scooping her up into his arms.

...

By the time Jasper rushed out of the consultation room with Gigi, drawn by the commotion, Hester was already gone.

He immediately went to the front desk. "What just happened here? Where did she go?"

The receptionist looked torn. "Mr. Weston told me not to say anything."

Jasper’s face darkened, instantly realizing something was very wrong. He had no ties to Julian, and when he tried calling Hester, it went straight to voicemail.

Left with no other option, he called Sabrina, gave her a quick rundown of the situation, and asked her to find out what was going on with Hester.

Thirty minutes later, Sabrina called him back.

"Jasper, I found her. She's totally fine, don't worry."

Hearing Sabrina's overly bright tone, Jasper's instincts flared. Something felt incredibly off.

"Sabrina, give it to me straight. What exactly is going on with her? She isn't answering her calls, and she hasn't read my texts."

Sabrina swallowed hard, her eyes darting to the man standing directly in front of her. Julian looked like the actual grim reaper. The phone was on speaker—per his explicit, terrifying command.

Sabrina forced a light, breezy laugh. "Oh, her phone just died! We're actually both at Stellamare Villa right now. She's keeping Bella company. Bella's going in for surgery tomorrow, and she's feeling pretty anxious, so the whole family is here to support her."

Jasper still felt uneasy, but knowing Sabrina was there offered some reassurance. It couldn't be a dire emergency.

"As long as she’s okay. I just wanted to make sure she was safe."

"Relax! Would I ever joke about Hester’s safety?"
