Chapter 217 Nectar Of The Gods

Riley expected as much, but she was still a bit disappointed; fortunately, screen mirroring worked.

Her tablet had a network connection, so next time TartKing visited, they wouldn’t have to huddle around a tiny screen.

Then, like a magician, Riley pulled the “junk food” she’d bought from the vending machine out of her bag.

“Coke (Value Size)”

“Tomato Chips”

“Chocolate Wafers”

“What’s this?” Neeko asked, sniffing the dark bottle.

“This is the Nectar of the Gods.”

Riley twisted the cap, and a sharp pssh of carbonation erupted.

She poured a little for Neeko, the treant, and even the gryphon.

“Give it a try.”

Neeko tentatively took a lick with her tongue.

A second later, her eyes bulged as if she’d seen a ghost-or opened a door to a new world.

“Woah! There’s a dance party in my mouth! Tiny people are punching my tongue!”

Neeko clutched her mouth in shock, then immediately took a massive gulp. “It’s so sweet! And fizzy! Burp-”

That loud soda burp instantly brightened the mood in the living room.

Even the stoic treant wore a contemplative expression after a sip. It seemed to be analyzing the chemical makeup before concluding that while unhealthy, it definitely spiked dopamine.

It silently poured itself another glass.

As for Ash… the bird was already buried head-first in the chip bag. He’d always loved chips; Riley’s previous few bags had already been ransacked by him.

Half an hour later, Riley changed into her heavy-duty work clothes.

She grabbed the Wheat Seeds and some tools before heading out.

Toward the mine.

From a distance, Riley spotted a plume of smoke rising from behind the makeshift wall.

The three natives hadn’t been slacking off.

Using the scrap wood and stones Riley provided, they had organized the guardroom at the mine entrance into a tidy living space.

Joseph had even built a crude stone stove in the corner and was boiling snow-water in a battered iron pot.

Hearing footsteps, the three stopped their work immediately.

“Master Wizard!”

Joseph beamed at her; despite the lingering frostbite on his face, he looked much healthier than yesterday.

Riley scanned the area and nodded in approval.

“Here are the seeds.”

Riley handed the wheat seeds to Joseph. “You can clear the land by the camp walls. Self-sufficiency is the goal.”

“Thank you for your blessing, my lady!”

Joseph took the seeds with both hands as if they were holy relics.

In this barren wasteland, seeds were life-hope more precious than gold,

“Also…”

Riley pulled an iron axe, a shovel, and some hoes from her inventory/

“Use these tools. And don’t forget to dig some coal for me when you have a moment.”

“Of course, Master Wizard.”

“Stop calling me that. I’m not a wizard, and it sounds weird.”

Back on Earth, Riley had never been called such a thing; she couldn’t get used to it. There were no serfs in the new world.

“As you wish, Master Illusionist.”

Riley was momentarily speechless, then remembered a spare green-tier longsword in her bag that boosted Strength slightly.

“Take this sword. Mobs might prowl at night; use it for protection.”
