Chapter 299 The Unbreakable Mirror
It just sat there quietly.
Riley knew it. She would recognize it eveitif it turned to ash.
It was the Divine Mirror.
She had tossed this mirror into magma thousands of degrees hot. She had watched it melt and vanish with her own eyes.
There was no way it could have come back. It was impossible.
Yet it was right there, less than half a yard away from her face.
Riley stared at it.
And it felt like the mirror was staring right back at her.
Its surface was pitch black.

Riley took a deep breath and grabbed the mirror firmly.
It felt ice cold. The twisted tentacle carvings on the edge dug slightly into her skin.
The surface stayed dark and empty, showing no reflection. Riley finally relaxed a little.
From past experience, the mirror was safe as long as no images appeared on its surface.
Still, how did it get back? Is this thing actually clinging to me?
Riley stared at it for a long while. Nothing strange happened. She finally made up her mind.
“If I can’t throw you away, I’ll just break you by force.”
She threw on her coat and carried the mirror to the tool shed.
She gripped her axe tightly and swung it down with all her strength.
The swing cut through the air with a sharp whoosh.
Clang!
A loud metal collision echoed through the shed.
Sparks flew everywhere.
A violent shock traveled up the axe handle, numbing her palms. She nearly lost her grip on the weapon.
She looked back at the mirror.
Its surface remained perfectly smooth. Not a single scratch marked it.
“Physical damage doesn’t work?”

Riley refused to give up.
She pulled out a bottle High Pstenry Corrosive Petion from her inventory.
Sizzle
Green liquid poured over the mirror, releasing thick white smoke.
Once the smoke faded, the mirror stayed spotless, not a single stain left behind.
She tried burning it, boiling it, and even grinding it with workshop tools.
Nothing worked.
“I give up.”
も
After struggling for more than half an hour, Riley abandoned all ideas of physically destroying the mirror.
Dropping it randomly near the camp was too risky. Someone unlucky might pick it up and suffer the consequences.
The blizzard raged outside, so she could not travel far. She decided to wait until the storm passed.
She stopped overthinking and headed back to her bedroom.
She sat down on her bed, still holding the mirror.
“Fine. You win.
“You can’t kill me, and I can’t break you. We’re stuck with each other.
“And don’t even think about making me put on that stupid mask. Not a chance.”
A thought crossed her mind. She opened her system inventory.
“Since you like following me so much, stay locked in the dark corner. I’m going to sleep.”
She tossed the Divine Mirror into the deepest corner of her inventory storage.
After securing the mirror, she patted her hands clean and slipped back under the covers.
This time, she slept soundly.
When she woke up the next morning, the nightstand was empty.
It seemed the mirror stayed put inside her inventory. Still, the demon god’s power felt unbelievably creepy.
Riley nodded in satisfaction. She got up, washed herself, and started a new day.

In the following days, the blizzard never stopped.
The catastrophic cold wave seemed determined to freeze the entire world solid.
