Chapter 300 It Just Wouldn’t Stay Gone

Chapter 300 It Just Wouldn’t Stay Gone

The tiny treant absolutely loved the second subspace.

It had built itself a little treehouse high up in a big tree at the center of the woods. It also buried the herb seeds from the monster forest right beneath the tree root’s.

Over these quiet days, the creepy mirror had become their main topic during casual breaks.

PineappleBeer held the Divine Mirror, which she’d just pulled out from Riley’s inventory. She turned it over and over in her hands.

“This is definitely the same one. How the hell did it come back?”

“I have no clue.” Riley warned her, “I woke up and it was just sitting on my nightstand. Don’t stare at it too long. This thing is messed up.”

“Let me try something!”

Bright light glowed in TartKing’s palm. She looked eager to test her skills.

“Maybe I can purify it!

“Holy Light Blast!”

A beam of golden light slammed straight into the mirror’s surface.

The mirror did not even shake. It reflected the golden light right back, nearly blinding Tartking.

“Alright, I give up.” TartKing rubbed her eyes.

“This thing is stubborn as hell. Nothing can break it.”

“Once the blizzard ends, I’m tossing it into the huge rift near camp,” Riley said firmly. “I refuse to believe it can crawl its way back again.”

Finally, after 15 long days of nonstop snowstorms…

One early morning, Riley pulled open her curtains out of habit.

For the first time in weeks, she saw sunlight.

The wind had died down.

The heavy snowfall turned into soft, scattered flurries.

The long-absent sun hung in the pale blue sky, shining down on the snow-covered land.

“The snow’s gone!!”

The global chat channel exploded instantly.

Countless survivors rushed out of their shelters. Some rolled around in the snow, others cried loudly toward the sun.

The brutal cold wave had taken countless lives. Countless thriving small camps had turned into silent ruins.

But for those who survived, a new chapter had begun.

Riley slowly pushed open her front door.

She breathed in the crisp, frigid fresh air.

She did not go looting right away. Instead, she headed straight for the massive rift behind the fortress.

That mirror was like a thorn stuck in her mind. She could not relax until it was gone for good.

PineappleBeer and TartKing followed closely beside her.

The three girls stood at the edge of the cliff overlooking the rift.

“Goodbye for real this time.”

Riley pulled out the mirror. This time, she tied a huge heavy rock to it.

“Down you go.”

Whoosh-

The mirror and the rock tumbled down into the endless darkness below.

They waited until no more echoes drifted up from the depths.

“It should be gone for good now, right?” TartKing leaned forward and peeked down.

“I hope so.”

Riley clapped the dust off her hands and turned to leave.

However, they had not even walked ten yards.

Ding.

A clear metallic sound came from Riley’s waist.

Riley froze mid-step.

She glanced down.

A new black pendant hung on her tactical belt out of nowhere.

It was the palm-sized mirror.

The twisted tentacle carvings on its edge seemed to coil tighter, almost as if it was mocking her, “Surprised?”

Riley stared at it, completely lost for words. There was nothing she could do.

PineappleBeer and Tartking saw it too. They exchanged a confused glance, their faces full of disbelief.

“This thing… is straight-up clinging to you?” PineappleBeer muttered in disbelief.

Riley stayed silent for three whole seconds.

“Fine.

“If you wanna follow me that bad, then stay.”

She let out a cold huff.
