Hearing Lucas's threat, all the reporters reflexively zipped their lips.
The little terror’s reputation was well-earned.
They quickly parted ways, and Lucas skipped cheerfully to the door.
“Natalie, we’re here to keep you company! Natalie, open up!”
When Natalie opened the door, the reporters erupted into another frenzy of photography, some even trying to push their way closer.
Just then, Lucas tossed the two white mice into the surging crowd.
A chorus of shrieks filled the air as the reporters scattered in every direction.
In the chaos, Terence and the children slipped inside.
Once the door was closed, Lucas and Liana immediately rushed to Natalie’s side.
“Natalie, are you okay? Did those reporters hurt you?”
[Natalie, I was so worried about you,] Liana signed.
Seeing the two children so concerned for her warmed Natalie’s heart.
“I’m fine, don’t worry. It’s just… I’m in a bit of trouble right now, so I can’t tutor you anymore.”
Natalie didn’t go into detail. They were still so young; she didn't want them to hear about such ugly things.
“Natalie, Daddy already had the Lockwood legal department trace the source of all that nonsense online,” Lucas said. “None of them are getting away with it.”
[Natalie, don’t worry,] Liana signed emphatically. [Daddy will protect you.]
Natalie glanced at Terence, who added, “Rumors are flying. You can’t just talk your way out of this. It wouldn’t matter if you or Old Mr. Fairchild tried to explain.”
